You spent all that cash on wax, don't ruin it by having your iron at the wrong temperature. The Swix T73 Waxing Iron ensures you get the wax where you need it without any waste. The T73 Waxing Iron utilizes the newest technology in iron heating elements. A thick film-type heating element is actually printed onto an insulated metal base plate, a layer of protective paste is added and finally a second layer of insulated metal seals it off. This makes the iron heat up quickly and evenly, and it offers excellent corrosion resistance to ensure a long life for your iron. A dial sets accurate temperature control, and the heating plate is angled for easier application control when waxing with powders. Swix includes a waxing guide that has all the proper settings for waxing with Cera Nova waxes.

Bottom Line: Just don't use it on your clothes, unless you really like the smell of ski wax.

Your Own Iron

By: Backcountry.com Sponsored Athlete
December 4, 2009

Every skier needs to own their own waxing iron. I am sorry, but the old clothes iron with holes in it is not going to work. To make sure you bases stay solid and fast you need to use a correct waxing iron. This one heats up fast and is probably the best on the market.

Good Iron

I would only recommend you buy this iron if you do nordic racing. For waxing a snowboard or alpine skis you don't need a good iron unless you are a competitive racer or ski cross half-pipe or big air athlete. The iron is very good. It heats perfectly and heats over the wax nicely. When waxing alpine skis you waste a heck of a lot less wax with this iron than a clothes iron but that doesn't justify the price. I think the $73 toko t8 gets the job don just as well but this is a really good iron. I recommend this to nordic and alpine competitive athletes but if your buying this to wax your pow skis, its not worth it.

i work in a shop and we have one of these bad boys. and well it has to be one of the best irons out there. we have used a ton of cheaper irons but they really just don't cut it.

if you like to wax your own stuff/or work in a shop. this iron is well worth the cost.

Great iron, heats up fast, and to the correct temperature, however I think I bought this for around 80 dollars, so look for a better deal because they are out there. Excellent product though!
