Great do all winter pant

  • Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit:Runs large
  • Height: 5'6"
    Weight: 125 lbs
    Size Purchased: XS

I live in the mountains of Colorado and I really like these pants as a do all pant for my lighter winter walking my dog and show shoeing. I followed the advice below and ordered a size smaller. Perfect!

Only the front is softshell

The front of these pants is soft shell, but the entire back is a thin stretchy material. I don' t think it is accurate to call the entire back of a pant a "panel". Not what I was looking for, I returned them.

Not standard to size at all!

I LOVE the feel of these pants and they would be very comfortable and warm to ski in on those frigid days below zero (or windchill below zero), but they are not standard to size at all. I had purchased the Swix Universal women's small at a local ski shop and they fit great (I am 5 feet and about 105 pounds). So I ordered these pants in a women's size S as well...I was drowning in husband that is 5' 9" held them up to him and they looked like they would be a good length for him! I saw in the size chart that there would not be much difference between the XS and the S, but I was hoping that somehow it would work out with a boot...nope...still's very strange since the Universal S fit so well...I would order these again if they adjusted the sizing next year as I do think they would be warm! That's why I said adequate for the job...maybe next year they'll figure out that XS does not mean GIANT! ;)

Hi Heather, your are correct, this pant runs large. I wear a small in women's Swix pants except for this one and XS is perfect. I think the size chart is misleading in the difference between XS and Small (I actually own both sizes). I am 5'5" and the length works and they do well over bigger boots, Sorels, etc. but I can imagine that they would be long on you. I hope you are able to try the XS sometime because the pant is great and very versatile for backcountry skiing, "winter wandering", cold weather dog walking, etc. I live in it in the winter in Colorado.
