Summer can mean the start of cross-country ski training with your roller skis and the Swix Carbon CT3 Ski Poles. The CT3 Ski Poles' hard metal tips take abuse from the pavement, while reflective taping along the shafts increases your chances of being seen when you're exercising at dawn, dusk, and in the dark. The Pro Fit straps support your hands and deliver poling force more directly to the tips of the CT3s while allowing your hands and fingers to remain relaxed. The carbon shafts are strong and stiff.

I plan to use these for roller skiing and they are a bit long. I assume the grips and ferrules are held on with a heat sensitive glue so is heating with hot water sufficient or do I need a heat gun? Does it matter if I cut it off at the grip end or the tip? What kind of glue to use to reinstall? Will Exel glue work or does Swix require some proprietary stuff. Thanks for any help and clarity you can provide.Robert

water has always worked for me... just get a pan boiling, and stick the tip in for 30 sec or so, longer if needed... Cutting from the tip seems to be better, that way you don't mess up the cork with water, but I suppose you could do either?Regular hot glue works fine, anything that will melt enough to get off in case you ever decide to trim a bit more or have to replace the baskets.

use a heat gun. there also is specific glue for baskets. It's easier to work w/. Cut from the top as the bottom will be tapered and you'll change the diameter needed for your roller ski ferrules. Swix usually use a 10mm dia. Just go easy on the cork with the heat so you don't burn it
