Great to use to clean your base before applying new wax, opens up the pores and makes for a better end result.

I use it every time I wax my snowboard.

Started maintaining my skis myself this year, and even though base cleaner may not be absolutely necessary, I wanted to do it right from start to finish. Product is great, and the kit includes more than enough fabric.

Exactly what I needed

You should always clean your bases before you apply new wax. Whether you hot wax (take a very warm wax - yello - 10) or use this base cleaner. This is a key product to waxing your skis effectively.

I went Nordic skiing for the first time last year (on waxless skis) and enjoyed it. I got my own (used) skis, poles, boots, etc., and needed to do some waxing. This cleaner worked fast and loosened the wax that remained after scrapping. The Fiberlene towel worked great at wiping it away. I don't know if there are better options out there, but I do know this combo pack is easy and effective.

Great product, however unless you are a racer, its not necessary. You can honestly clean your bases with a wet paper towel, and then a dry one, and that will work fine. I used to race, and I owned a few cans of this then, and it was great for the large temperature gradient days when you needed to remove all the high temperature wax and reapply new low temperature wax, but aside from that its not a necessity at all

I agree, it does a great job of cleaning, but is is bit pricey. Save you money...a good heavy duty paper towel will work.

This base cleaner works very well on my snowboard. Just shake the can up, press it on the board, and clean away - it's that easy. When you use the included towel, you'll definitely see dirt starting to accumulate on it and proof that it's working.
