The Suunto X6HRM Stainless Steel Heart Rate Monitor helps endurance athletes improve their training and keeps both the athlete and adventurer on track with its altimeter functions. Not only can you get readings on your altitude, barometric pressure, and compass directions, you can record those readings for later analysis on your PC. Suunto gave the X6HRM stainless steel housing so it can handle the burliest adventures you dish out. Take the X6HRM out for your 20-miler on the weekend and track your heart rate limits, time, and distance. Suunto included their new heart rate transmitter belt so you can strap it around your chest and get after it the moment this heart rate monitor arrives on your door step.
Bottom Line: Take the Suunto X6HRM Stainless Steel Heart Rate Monitor up a peak, on the road, or both.

is the X6HRM compatible with the cycling pod and the foot pod?i do alot of running and cycling in addition to backcountry skiing and climbing so i like the features the watch already has but i want the other options as well or are there any other watchs i should b looking at?
I bought the 'normal' version of this watch a few years ago with giant hopes of using it to train, etc. Apparently, if I'd waited another 6 months it would have saved me years of aggravation as I got a Mac about the same time as the watch. In short, it doesn't work with a Mac at all except through Windows and that program, Training Manager seems as though it was written by a high schooler in basic IT class.
The T6 and others seem to work with better software and other programs can download their data. Not so with the X6HR. Just be aware of that. Seemingly, Suunto will never change this as it's the largest visited topic on the Suunto discussion board and their only comment is 'We don't have time to work on it.'
Beyond that, it's a wonderful piece of equipment and I've enjoyed 'playing' with it for the whole time that I've had it. I just wish I could really use the HR features, etc. and I want others to be forewarned before they make the same mistake that I did.

I bought the X6HRT, and is a nice watch, but I tried to download for first time my datas from my training and I just realize that the cable which connect the X6 with the laptop is a Serial cable and not USB cable, and there is no normal Laptop now with this kind of port (Serial), so what can I do since this feature of downloding the info was one of the main reasons why I bought it, and I don't have what I paid for. Please give an answer, because I am sure I not the only one with problem, and I'd like to know how to solve it.
This is a good watch. Like the Suunto Observer before it, the alarm is too quiet. After that there are no negatives. I really like the memory function in the weather menu. It lets you see a long time graphic analysis of atmospheric pressure. The increased memory is good. Very good quality watch. You get what you pay for.
Can someone please help me discern the difference between the X6HRM and the new Vector HR? All I can seem to pick up is that the X6 has the same basic ABC-HR features, but each of these is more complex - and it is PC compatible. anyone else got any ideas? is the X6HRM now outdated or....??? other options? thanks guys!
I wouldn't say the Suunto x6HR is outdated, but if HR is your main feature, you'd be better served by the t6c. If you mainly want ABC features, this one is more slim, and has easier navigation than a Vector HR. The HR on both the X6 and Vector are more basic than in the t6c.
This watch is amazing. The watch's functions are top notch- no complaints there at all, but I find the price to be higher then necessary. Aside from that the HRM works incredibly, along with the compass, altimeter and barometer. An amazing piece of equipment if you can get past the price!!
I have an old X6HRM from Suunto and need to replace the strap? I can't fine replacement straps anywhere - do you carry them? If not can you special order?
they sell these replacment on this site (how hard did you look because i found these very easily and i dont even know anythig about Sunnto):SUN0130SUN0134SUN0140copy/paste any of those item#'s into the search bar and press enter to be taken directly to the product
--If you're trying to get HR data on the watch while swimming, it's not going to work, because HR radio signals don't travel well through water, and you need to have the strap on your chest in order to read HRdata. There is a memory belt that reads HR and records it, then you can download that data onto your PC. If you're wondering about general water resistance, no problem!
I think the answer for swimmers is not a watch chest-strap config, but something more like a neck collar and shoulder monitor config. this way you get past the transmission problems through water. Many people seem to think the problem is with getting the strap to detect heart beats through water, but this is not the case. Just drop the watch in a cup of water when your completely dry and see how well the watch reads the transmission.
This is a good watch. Like the Suunto Observer before it, the alarm is too quiet. After that there are no negatives. I really like the memory function more...
