The Suunto Smart Belt records your heart rate without the need for a compatible watch. When you get done, hook it to your computer with the included Docking Station to download your training data. Audible heart rate alarms let you know if you're training in the right zone. The Smart Belt also works with Suunto's PC POD, Team POD, and all t-series HR watches.
Bottom Line: You don't need a watch to record your heart rate. Just use the Suunto Smart Belt and Docking Station.

I've got several of the Suunto items and this one is my favorite. It's great to use with a t3 or t4 when you want access to more information. Also, since it stores the data on the belt itself, it is great to use under a tri suit when swimming (from other reviews I've read, some people have had difficulty getting it to work when swimming-I can honestly say that it has worked well for me).
