Suunto Observer Strap Kit - SR & X6HRM Models - 2007 BCS

I've had my Observer for 6 years now, and I'm on my 5th band - (actually just ordered my 6th as a backup) The watch itself is awesome, but the bands average lasting just about a year for me. Granted, I almost never take it off, and its been exposed to some pretty harsh environments. I'm military and have taken this thing to 3 continents, from sub zero temps to ~135 deg. F. The band is comfortable to wear, but breaks way too often for the price.

I've had 2-3 of this replacement strap for my Observer, and all of them have broken within a year, granted, I never take it off...ever. I just got the new model (Item #SUN0130) that doesn't have the big holes. So far, it seems more comfortable, more durable, and...it's half the price!!!

The band on this watch is junk. Mine split in half just walking with it on after 18 months and Suunto was nice enough to tell me to contact one of their retailers to buy another. Good for Suunto, good for BC.com. Not so good for their customers...My last Suunto purchase.

I've had to replace the strap on my Observer three times. Great watch, horrible strap.

This is the second replacement band I've had to purchase because the original and the first replacement band have both snapped. It's a nice band, but at 40 bucks a pop I'd expect to get more than 18 months of use out of it. I'm going to buy a different band this time around now that there appear to be a couple alternatives available.

The Suunto is a great product and the band is pretty durable, but they do need replacemnts every couple years. I think the costof $40 is a little steep for a replacement strap.
