The Suunto Foot POD attaches to your shoe and sends pace, speed, and distance data to any Suunto t3, t4m or t6 watch. Unlike a pedometer, the Foot POD tracks your speed and distance no matter the distance of your stride or the terrain you're moving over. The 1.6oz Foot POD also provides lap and speed alarms when used with compatible Suunto watches, so you can use it for interval training as well as longer outings.
Bottom Line: Learn more about your running performance when you run with the Suunto Foot POD.
the foot pod is awesome. it's small and light and i don't even notice it on my shoe. it's super accurate and you can calibrate it via the suunto watch you have paired it with. i find that there are slight calibration differences for road vs. trail running.
the only comment i have as a con for the suunto foot pod is that the attachment is very hard to remove. the last version came off very easy. in fact i lost 2 of them because they were pulled or kicked off while running. well suunto certainly fixed that issue because this one is almost impossible to remove even when trying. since we can't have it both ways i guess, i'm happy for the small amount of pain for the thing staying put.
Looks like you can get one here http://www.suuntowatches.com/Suunto-Foot-POD-Battery-Kit.pro It includes a O-ring and cover.
Or you can just buy a CR2032 battery. It looks like Energizer and other manufacturers make them. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=cr2032&x=0&y=0
I use this with my T6c and it works great. I got about 3 months out of the 1st battery. I think it's more accurate than the previous model. After calibrating it, I ran a marathon and it recorded the distance as 26.28 miles. Can't ask for better than that.

fantastic, this thing works great, has a lttle bit of an issue with speed if you a running intervals (lags a little in catching up with speed changes) in the middle of your run but other than that it is true and accurate. great especially if you run for distance and want to check out new routes. just go and watch the watch until you reach your goal. distance was spot on 99% of the time. again, intervals in the middle of the run affect it a bit. and I am totally jealous of the the colors, they only had black when I got mine.
Hey this may sound lame, but I'm old school athlete and not high tech at all. That being said, I wanted to buy a pedometer for my husband, and was considering this with the T3 Suunto watch. Basically he is looking for distance, stride, heart rate. Has anyone used this pedo with the watch? Can anyone tell me if it's easy to use and worth the money...or should I just buy a cheep one? Thanks - really appreciate it.
I've used the foot pod a bunch with the t3 and t6, and it's way better than a pedometer because it measures distance regardless of stride length (accurate in any terrain). Super easy to set up, and it turns on automatically with motion and, once paired, the t3 will find the foot pod when you go to the HR mode. easy...
Typical foot POD and works like all my other Pods like Garmin and Polar. Cool color though. Also, unlike both my other Pods - it does not record cadence which for me is a big thing and the reason it gets 4 stars.
Accurate! Looks like mine is about 1/100th of a mile off no matter how many times I calibrate it. Everyone I talk to has the same level of accuracy. I considered the GPS pod, but am so glad to have gotten this one. I guess simpler is often better.
