I have a Precor 9.21 with a heart monitor. It came with a Suunto belt(a plastic whole chest band type). I think the belt is dead. I tried to use a Polar T31 coded unit but the treadmill hasnt picked it up at all. (Just see HR a couple of times on the display and nothing). Any way to find out if this is compatible with the Precore 9.21?

Have you tried replacing the battery in the chest strap? It should us a CR2032 battery, available at most grocery stores.
Great Use, Don't Overtighten

I use this belt normally for most anything that requires physical exertion and I definitely have my loves and hates about it.
The transmission is very strong with watch applications and only will not get read when the battery is pretty much dead. The front module being smaller than normal heart rate belts does increase the comfort for sure.
That being said, the clasp is a bit fragile. Over tightening over time will wear out the band and if you have it super tight, there is a chance of clasp failure.
The Suunto Dual Comfort Belt will work great if you remember to keep it slightly less tight than normal, which is okay as the strength of transmission is more than adequate.

Great fit, way better than the old style. Suunto is great for ultrarunning; batteries last better than rechargables.

Does the Job With Improved Comfort

The original belt on my T6 crapped out about 6 months ago, so I decided to upgrade to the Dual Belt and it ended up being a great decision. Suunto incorporated less hard plastic to improve comfort and it certainly does that. It is easier to forget it's there. Two caveats come with this belt though. I kind of had to fudge with battery a bit (take the casing off and physically press the battery down) to get it paired with my T6. It was great once it got paired though. The other is one needs to be careful in how tight the belt is around the chest. I see a lot of reviews where people say their broke within a few weeks and looking the design of the belt, this is probably the main reason for that happening. All in all, a great improvement on the comfort of heart rate transmission belts.

My second Suunto "comfort belt" just broke at the same place (one of the two little plastic tabs that keeps the belt closed around your chest) -- each is lasting about 6 months despite very gentle use. I now need a third heart belt to work with my T6C so I'm thinking about paying the extra for the dual belt instead of just getting a replacement comfort belt. Does the new dual belt have the same closure mechanism as the comfort belt (which I'd expect to break in a few months), or does it have a better closure design?

same closure as the regular comfort belt. Dual just works with some gym equipment, otherwise, it's identical. You should be able to get a replacement at no charge from Suunto. Check the webpage under custy service

I would like to order a Suunto belt for a X3 heart monitor. I do not need the sending device, just the belt. Any help? Is the lone belt available? Thanks, JOT

Your X3 watch might be older than a year old, which would lead me to believe you have the stander HR strap. If so, it doesn't look like they have any of replacement straps only available on BC.
Any of the replacements offered here at BC would work if you wanted to replace strap/transmittor. The dual belt is not necessary for your watch model, the comfort would be best.
If you want to replace the strap only, check out http://www.suuntowatches.com/Suunto-Strap-HR.pro

Great heart rate monitor strap. Very comfortable and lightweight. Been using for a month and haven't had any trouble with interference and the abnormally high heart rate readings I've experienced in the past with other straps.
