Stand up on the Surftech Mickey Munoz Soft Top Paddle Board and step back to the future on this new take on a classic sport. Munoz isn’t just one of the guys who made big wave surfing famous, he’s also a legendary shaper, which is why Surftech relies on his expertise. The moment you hit the surf on this narrow, low-volume board, you’ll notice how the v-bottom lets you carve from rail to rail more aggressively than a flat bottom design. Paddle into the gnarliest reef break with confidence knowing that if the epoxy fiberglass shell gets cracked, Surftech’s proprietary Tuflite waterproof EPS core won’t absorb water.

Bottom Line: A classic stand up shape with a modern heart.

Write your question here... I would like to order this board but I need to know the width. I weight 225 lbs. and the width is the determining factor in whether or not it will float me. Also I would like to see a photo of the bottom of the board for the fins. Is there a center fin box? Are there side bite fcs fins? Thanks.

Not what I expected - In a good way

I just got the board last Saturday. I had read that it was good for 2 foot days to overhead reef rollers but hey it is a great big softboard so how could that be so?

Well I opened the box and it is a hard (Surftech)board with a soft deck pad running nose to tail and it is HEAVY but it has some rocker to it...

So check the surf cams and by 7:00 AM it looks like nice little 2' rollers are coming in at low tide but I have to make a few calls so I pull a "work from home" day.

By 3 PM high tide has come and gone and we are heading back toward low - so I throw the 12' on the car and my 9yr old in the passenger seat and off we go to our spot here in NJ.

Well one Hurricane has just headed north and Hurricane Earle is due to hit by Thursday so this was the calm before the storm...NOPE it was chest to head and the lefts were working so I paddled the beast out to the line up and then past the line up - way past the line up.

This board works - it catches everything and it moves like a much smaller board. I HAD A BLAST - IF YOU ARE A BIG GUY (like 6'4 250 BIG) this is your board.

So I guess the description is right it works in overhead surf and I can't wait to try it in 2' beach break.

Two fold. From what I can tell, this model is no longer being made. Secondly, softtops are generally regarded as entry level. The board will do everything other boards listed on backcountry.com will do. It's a steal at this price and at 12 ft, could float just about anyone.

EDIT to the above: If this board is 26 inches wide, it will tip easier than most boards.

I guess the same reason a C class Mercedes is still a good car but it's not the SLS we all really want.

Good question and details backcountry should def supply us. Searched around and I believe it's 26 inches wide and I would say heavier than most paddle boards. I also see that there isn't a handle molded into the deck.
