Great Coverage, Easy Size Adjustment
Semi-stiff brim gives great sun coverage for little faces, and the webbing adjustment on the outside is easy to use for a wide range of sizes making the 2-5 year size a conservative estimate.
Adjustable Webbing For Many Sizes in One
Easy to adjust fit to accommodate an infant through a four year old (and beyond!) The slider is easy to use, and the webbing is light keeping the overall hat lightweight and comfy for little kids.

It is almost summer and my outdoors-loving kids need sun protection stat. We've gone through way too many sun hats in this family, and finally scored this year with Sunday Afternoons. We keep winding up with hats that are heavy, small, and don't block much sun.
The Sunday Afternoons fun bucket is a huge improvement, adding key features to a traditional design. It's lightweight, dries quickly, flexible, and has a classic look that goes with anything.
The fun bucket is light and easy to fold in half (for a super compact hat, check out the Sunday Afternoons Play Hat â our pick for backpacking and other space-limited adventures) so it is simple to tuck into our go bag and bring along on hikes, beach days, trips to the pool, and backyard play-dates.
The fit is generous, and easily adjustable with lightweight webbing on the outside to fit a wide range of head sizes. J is two and has plenty of room in the 2-5 year size, but it does not slump down and get in his face at all (a major flaw in many other hats weâve tried). He preferred the blue Clear Creek Boonie hat that we picked up as well, so the fun bucket was relegated to his little brother B (5 months). It is too big for an infant, but still has enough structure to stay well clear of his face. We also tried the fun bucket on a four year old and got a good fit, so the size is true if not conservative. SA makes infant hats as well, which is where Iâm headed after I finish this review âº
The chin strap easily tightens and loosens, and fits behind ears without trouble. It is tight enough to keep the hat on a little head in a speeding motorboat. It comes with a nifty quick-release so if the hat is ever caught and the kid keeps going, they don't get clothes-lined. There is open mesh around the top to keep little heads cool.
The inside has a soft lining around the brim, and no hard or itchy features to irritate little heads.
Sunday Afternoons have really thought through the features on the play hat to deliver what toddlers and little kids need in a several choices of cute, functional, sun hats. Finally someone that knows a little bit about kids! In addition to me being pleased that my children have sun protection, they love the comfy rims, bright colors and cheerful patterns and happily keep SA hats on while playing.

Sunday Afternoons Fun Bucket Hat - Kids'
4 yo twins
Perfect hat for preschoolers!
I had trouble finding hats big enough for my 4 year old boy/girl twins, but these are perfect! I ordered the size 5 and worried it might be too big. There is a drawstring inside to make the hat fit slightly smaller if needed, making these the perfect size but allowing room to grow! They are lightweight, so the kids don't mind wearing them and the chin strap helps keep it on. I couldn't ask for a better hat.
Yes, the brim is slightly stiff, but it is still easily bendable. I packed them totally flat in a suitcase with no problem. I feel the brim is perfect and gives it enough shape to stand up, keeping the sun out. :)
ok, still rim
Was looking for a beach hat for my toddler. It was a little big and the rim was too stiff. Wanted something that I could throw into the beach bag and go.
My boys loves to wear this hat!
I bought this hat for my five year old (youth size). He loves it! He loves that he can move the cord up and down on his own to adjust it on his own. It is lightweight, has a nice size brim that shades his face and he looks cute in it!
Does it float?
Does it float?
Thanks for your question.
Yes, this hat will float. It has the FloatCore brim.
"FloatCore: Durable Brim Floatation
Keeps headwear afloat for water related use"
"Sunday Afternoons FloatCore brim technology uses optimal density closed-cell foam to create lightweight, highly flexible and durable hat brims. The featherweight FloatCore brim technology allows headwear to effectively float in fresh and salt water. Ideal for water related sports and activities like fishing, paddling, boating swimming, etc. FloatCore brims also maintain body and shape for long-term use, so your hat stays useable and looking good week after week, year after year."

What is the difference between youth and child...do you have a size chart??
The "youth" is designed to fit a child 5-9 years old and the "child" size is designed to fit a child 2-5 years old. Apparently the Backcountry site now has a size chart for all the hats.-Sunday Afternoons
