I had trouble finding hats big enough for my 4 year old boy/girl twins, but these are perfect! I ordered the size 5 and worried it might be too big. There is a drawstring inside to make the hat fit slightly smaller if needed, making these the perfect size but allowing room to grow! They are lightweight, so the kids don't mind wearing them and the chin strap helps keep it on. I couldn't ask for a better hat.

Yes, the brim is slightly stiff, but it is still easily bendable. I packed them totally flat in a suitcase with no problem. I feel the brim is perfect and gives it enough shape to stand up, keeping the sun out. :)

Was looking for a beach hat for my toddler. It was a little big and the rim was too stiff. Wanted something that I could throw into the beach bag and go.

I bought this hat for my five year old (youth size). He loves it! He loves that he can move the cord up and down on his own to adjust it on his own. It is lightweight, has a nice size brim that shades his face and he looks cute in it!

The "youth" is designed to fit a child 5-9 years old and the "child" size is designed to fit a child 2-5 years old. Apparently the Backcountry site now has a size chart for all the hats.-Sunday Afternoons
