Description

Ride longer thanks to these thoughtfully designed knickers.

Whether you are a pro or aspire to be one, the Sugoi Women’s RS Cycling Knicker provides pro-level performance with its superior design. The UltraAero fabric’s dimpled surface minimizes friction as it aerodynamically slices through the air as you ride. Its supportive fit energizes muscles to keep you going when the going gets tough. Sugoi removed the inseam on the RS to reduce bulk and its signature leg grip keeps these knickers in place. Flatlock seams won’t rub you the wrong way in high-abrasion areas. The Formula FX liner’s perforated construction increases ventilation and its four-way stretch side panels mold to the contours of your body for maximum comfort.

Noticed that the only review here emphasized that the Knicker was for COOL weather. The description says COLD weather. So, is it good for COLD weather? I.e. below 40 degrees?

Responded on

You should be good down to temps just above freezing ideally, but no temp range is given for garments by Sugoi and is much dependent on how you handle those temps yourself.

While the UltraAero material is great and seems to handle temperature changes better than most summer short materials it is not insulating and provides no protection from the cold wind either. This is the type of short you wear on cool morning that warm out as the day goes on. You don't need to pack knee or leg warmers. Considering you asked for something to use under 45F, try a full tight or insulated knicker.

My favorites are

- Pearl Izumi P.R.O. Softshell or Pearl Izumi Amfib Tight (For 50 degrees and under, both have windstopper for open road rides, can be purchased without chamois for layering over a short or knicker)

- Sugoi MidZero RC Pro Tight (These are so cozy and comfortable and don't get too hot even as the day warms a bit)

Almost Perfect

These knickers aren't thick, but they are perfect for cool weather. The fabric feels a little funky off the bike, but once I'm cycling they feel wonderful. They stretch easily with my body and melt into my skin. The chamois is also one of my favorites. The only thing I would change on these is the thin waistband. I find a wide waistband more comfortable and flattering. Otherwise, they're perfect.
