Sugoi has earned a reputation as the clothing manufacturer that gives you tremendous bang for your buck. Sugoi’s designs always feature the most important technologies at unbelievably low prices. Its designs may not always be the fanciest on the market, but the gear has everything that you need at an affordable price. The Sugoi Women’s Evolution bib short has been (you guessed it) evolving for years, and this latest version is by far the best yet.
Like any decent bib short, Evolution bib shorts are made with stretchy, moisture-wicking fabric. What sets them apart, however, especially in this price range, is EvoPlus fabric. This proprietary fabric is slightly compressive. That means it supports your muscles to reduce power-robbing shock and vibration. Evolution bib shorts are made with eight panels for a perfect fit. Flatlock stitching is used throughout the bibs to reduce chafing and irritation. The Evolution also gets Sugoi’s women’s RC Pro chamois to manage moisture, reduce pressure on your soft tissues, and move your weight to your sit bones.

- Q & A
I wanted to update my review
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
When I first bought these shorts, the chamois was very rough. The reason I have changed my rating is after "breaking in" the shorts, they have now become my go-to pair. I own some high-end LG, and ASSOS bib shorts as well, and I prefer these over the other pair of shorts I own. They fit comfortably, I never notice that they are on, the seams don't rub anywhere. The chamois did take 3-4 washes before I loved it, I find that I don't need the "butt butter" for my long rides. I highly recommend these shorts.
Good, But Not Great
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Small
(Review by my wife... me wearing these would not be pretty!)
In the transition to Bibs, I ordered several and kept these and LG NeoPower Motion. They're comfortable and wear pretty well, but the chamois and I just don't work together very well. They're a more "relaxed" fit without compression which adds free movement between me and the chamois. This makes them more comfortable for shorter rides, but can chafe on longer ones.
Worn them a couple times
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have worn this a couple times on rides about 30 mile long. I love the shorts, they feel great on and I love the way the material feels when riding. I normally wear a size large in women cycling gear and bought these in a medium and they were a perfect fit for me. The reason for the 3 stars is the Chamois. I want to give these shorts a little more wear before I completely judge the chamois, but so far it is not my favorite. It seems to rub a little and causes some irritation after about 15 miles into the ride, which is not good, if you have a lot more miles you need to put in. I don't like how aware of the chamois I am, I feel that a good chamois is one you don't even know exists. After I have put some more mile in the shorts I will update my review if any impressions I have of the shorts change. Wish the chamois was different, these shorts would be perfect then .
