This jacket replaced my fleece jacket (WindStopper type thing) and I have no regrets at dropping those bulky uncomfortable jackets from my layering set. Now I look good, am always warm and it even blocks wind. It just doesn't get any better then this as far as mid layers that perform. Get a jacket that really makes good layering sense and is a steller fashion piece for those nights out on the town or under the stars...

INCREDIBLE what you can get out of a jacket these days. No moisture absorbing and rugged abrasion resistance, water resilience and wind cutting, yet stylish and comfortable; Dare I say apparel with sex appeal. When you want something to cover up and take the bite from the wind and protect you from the suns rays, but you require it to breath and not absorb moisture because you are hiking like a banshee headed straight for hell and sweating like _____(fill in the blank) in church and at the ridge top that wind is whipping up the chill factor on a cold clear day of skiing or you want something light enough to hang around the Paragliding launch in the hot sun and still deflect the winds at altitude, OR a do it all jacket that is the first choice off the rack for any and all action activities, then you want this incredible jacket.

The workhorse! Most durable deal going. I can't wear mine out. Buy once keep forever. Unless your sadistically brutal on your gloves. Pretty warm and really water resistant. I even weld in them in the winter.

I hate to be cold, especially now that I am old and slow. Since I got my Hoback Jacket and Pants I am always warm. Sitting in the snow, skiing in the cold arctic conditions of the Rocky Mountains or flying at high altitudes in my paraglider I am no longer feeling the chill that I used to in my layering system. And the reduced bulk! It is a puffy that is waterproof and windproof. SIC. So now I am never cold and my gear is way cool!

I have struggled with cold hands since I first got frost nipped on the chairlift that broke down at Iron Mountain, MI when I was 10. Stuck forever in severe cold & howling winds, I have been sensitive ever sine. I have gotten used to the screaming barffies over the years, but now I won't have to confront that kind of pain anymore!! Super warm fingers in a glove and totally dexterous control!
