These shades are dope!

Smith Method Sunglasses - Polarized Lens

Rating for this product: 5 June 7, 2007

I am very fond of these glasses, they are durable, not the size of binoculars (even though some people think that is cool, not me!) and polarized lenses do wonders for fishing and removing the glare from the surface of the water. They also allow you to use crokies very well.

Great for everything!!

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core REM Sleeping Pad - Mummy

Rating for this product: 5 June 5, 2007

I have used this pad with my Big Agnes Zirkel 20 down bag about 30 times and love the combo. This mat is very durable, packs really small, inflates by mouth in about 2 minutes, is very light and warm. The Primaloft insulation does a great job of keeping the cold ground out an also works great for floating down rivers. I also bought the nylon totally collapsible chair that used the sleeping pad as the padding, that thing is AMAZING. This pad is great weather you have a Big Agnes bag or not and I would highly recommend getting this one or the Dual insulated aircore!!

Darn Tough is the S#i$

Darn Tough Merino Wool Cushion 1/4 Sock

Rating for this product: 5 May 1, 2007

I have a few pairs of there socks and I love every one. I have abused them time and time again and they hold up. They keep my feet very dry and comfortable even in the hottest conditions. While running or biking they do not create any friction points and I am never rushing to rip them off at the end. Over all Darn Tough makes great socks and I also love this company because they are in Vermont and Vermont rocks!!

Chaco's are sweet!

Chaco Z/2 Diamond Stealth Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 1, 2007

I just got my first pair of Chaco's about two weeks ago and they fit very true to size, I am a size 10, got a 10 and they fit just right. Here are some of the Pro's and Con's from my experience Pro's = fairly light weight Dry super fast great arch support and strap support grip to river bottom like no other! strap easily on my pack Are comfortable in the river and around camp Cons = Can not substitute for hiking boots or shoes, Hiked 2.5 miles in them the second time I wore them and my feet got thrashed. Over all they are great river sandals that can handle multi pitch ascents and descents for short distances

Snap!!

Black Diamond Deploy 7 Shovel

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2006

This shovel is sweet!! It is super light weight, very fast to get out and extend. The blade is a little small, I would not use it to build a booter or shovel the driveway, but for safety and digging when you need to, it works great.

Mixed feelings

Arc'teryx Scorpion Ski Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2006

I have owned this jacket for about 3 months now and find that I really like it for some things and will not wear it for others. It is by no means a versatile jacket. I love the material, super water proof, breathable and LIGHT WEIGHT. The fit is excellent, it is long where it needs to be, and tight where it needs to be. I am not a fan of the pockets, or lack there of. I need a jacket that has at least 4 pockets. It is very good for what it is, but with the amount of features available in jackets these days, this just is not keeping up.

These Gloves Rock!!

Outdoor Research Prophet Gloves

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2006

I got these gloves on a super sweet pro deal from OR and was not expecting much from them. Now they are the gloves that can do it all. I really do not like big, bulky gloves and I don't like gloves that go past my wrist. I like to pull my jacket over them and be comfortable and warm, which is exactly what these do for me. They stay very dry due to the Gore-Tex and are very light weight. These gloves are also much warmer then they appear, I have found myself in 15-20 degree weather, on the mountain, and was taking them off because my hands where so warm. I am definitely one of those "never cold" people so I don't want you to think that they don't breath because they do. For under $100, in a light weight, super waterproof glove, you cannot beat the Prophet. I also think that Outdoor Research is an awesome company that makes sure their products are top quality.

Pretty sweat poles!

Black Diamond FlickLock Expedition Poles - 1 Pair

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2006

I am a snowboarder, so do not use poles except when hiking and using a split board for touring. I purchased these poles just for that, and they are great. They are very light weight, and i love how small they get. They seem to be fairly sturdy and the flick locks are great and do not slip. Not sure how durable they would be for a skier to use all the time, but for touring and hiking they are great.

Still Killing It!!!

Ally Distribution Absinthe Film's More Snowboard Movie

Rating for this product: 4 December 16, 2006

Absinthe continues to amaze me with their creativity, talent and knack for location. This movie is at the top of my list for this years films, right next to the MDP film of course. The first 20 Minutes or so is films in the Utah backcountry (Uintas) which is so amazing because the powder is epic and they only way to get there is a sweat snowmobile ride. There is a great mixture of powder, rails and jumps. The extra's on this DVD are awesome, and really show what the snowboard lifestyle is all about. If you want to watch a film that will get you pumped to ride, or just leave you feeling great about the sport, this is the film for you!!

Flows like the Salmon of Capa-strana

Nitro Suprateam Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 December 16, 2006

I demo'd this board a few years back for a couple of days and loved it. This year i bought it and cannot believe the pop. It is a great all-mountain board and rides really well in the deep powder that we have here in Utah. Like the other have stated, this is not a begginer board, and demands an experienced driver who can really utilize its potential. It is very light, very popie, and very durable. I have also found that it breaks in quite nicely. It is a little stiff for rails, and takes a little getting used to for those presses, but other then that it is top notch!

A lot of heart, but a bit too much!

Ally Distribution Finger On Da Trigger's State Of Mind Snowboard Movie

Rating for this product: 3 December 16, 2006

I have seen every FODT movie over the years, know a lot of the makers / riders and think that all those guys kill it. They are all very talented and innovative. This film displays a lot of sick wall rides, awesome jibbing skills, some sweat Utah backcountry and way to much Gangster rap that is not even close to being pleasant to listen to. I know these guys are setting a trend and it is working to sell gear, movies and create a new breed of snowboarder, but they really need to tone down the crappy music. Other then the music really sucking, except for Neil Provo's part with some much needed Reggea , the film looks like it was a lot of fun to make, which makes the audience appreciate what they are doing. If you like rails, SLC, and can handle some Gangster crap, then you should like this film.
