Great Mountain Boot
Asolo Fugitive GTX Hiking Boot - Men's
July 22, 2006
First time out of the box I wore these on a 6-mile hike up about 2,000 feet of elevation over mixed rock and forest trail. One boot pinched a little across the instep. Next time out was a climb of Mt. Princeton (14,197') in the Colorado Collegiate Range. 3,500 foot gain over talus and scree and the boots did great both going up and coming down. Great ankle support. Soles gripped the rock well and were stiff enough for climbing but flexible enough for walking. Very comfortable now that they were broken in. No blisters, hot spots, or bruises, but I'll probably get some gel foot beds for even better comfort. Very pleased with these boots!
