A great universal crampon

CAMP USA XLC 490 Newmatic Crampon

Rating for this product: 5 August 1, 2008

I recently purchased these crampons for glacier travel in Bugaboo national park in British Columbia. They are extremely light weight and very durable. I was walking on everything from slushy snow, to packed ice, to rocky moraines. The color coating is pretty beat up but the overall structure never bent and I was pretty rough on them. I found them easy to adjust and easy to get on and not once did I have them loosen up on me. I would recommend these crampons to anyone looking for something simple to go over any boot for any glacier travel.

To sum it up

Petzl Adjama Harness - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 May 31, 2008

I as well have a 31-32 in waist and the medium is almost too big. The harness seems to have narrow gear loops which makes it a little harder to clip items if you are wearing a shirt. The harness seems to take the falls very well and I found the harness much more ergonomic compared to to my last one which makes it more comfortable. however there is no way i would hang all day in it. The rating is with the intension of top rope and sport climbing.

So far so good

Petzl Nomad Climbing Rope - 9.8 mm

Rating for this product: 4 March 14, 2008

I recently bought this rope on a whim just to try it out and it worked great for me down in the Red River Gorge. The rope slid effortlessly over the rock while going for the hard clips which is quite a luxury. There are rumors that Petzl is have some consistency issues but I have had no problems what so ever and I hope it continues. Despite what the description says, the rope does have a middle mark.
