I wear a size 1 or 2, and the XS was too small. However, they appear to be great pants! I will not send them back because they fit my 11 year old daughter. I ordered pants from a different mfg. where I am sure of the sizing.

I bought a pair last year, and would buy 5 more if they'd come back with the size 2! They are extremely comfortable and durable, and very flattering as well. They sit just below the waist, and manage somehow to skim over the hips and rear, and are long enough for a woman, and short enough to, well, show off your legs. These shorts can go on hikes, on kayaks, and in the city with ease. The fabric outside repels everything, they don't wrinkle, and dry quickly if necessary. The waistband is very soft and comfortable. Everyone asks me about these shorts when I wear them.

Perfect for coolish drizzly weather. Bought for a vacation, leaving next weekend, and tried it out today in town -- 50's and rainy outside, not hot in the car, not hot doing errands inside stores. The small size fits perfectly (I wear a 2-4 top) and the sleeves are not too long, finally! Room to layer, if it was necessary. I hesitated to take out the hood but it went back into it's rolled up space easily, the collar is not stiff or annoying when it's packed away. One of the nicest things is that I won't just keep this for hiking or vacations, the cut is flattering and I can see that this will be one of my favorites all year round.

These shorts are wonderful—they are rugged and seem to withstand all sorts of activities, but look really nice, as they have an extremely flattering fit and the fabric is wonderfully matte. They've been washed at least 10 times so far and still look brand new.
