Karhu JAK ski

Karhu Jak Telemark and Alpine Touring Ski

Rating for this product: 5 February 18, 2007

I had Tua Sumos 178 length before buying the JAKs. The Sumos were great backcountry skis, but at the resort did not perform that well on harder snow and were cumbersome in the bumps. I bought the JAKs on reviews and descriptions. They were pretty much right on. The do surprising well on the hard stuff given how fat they are. And as you would expect, they rock in the powder and crud. This really is an all mountain ski. I got the 165 length (I am 5'8") and mounted the Voile CRB bindings. This ski is a lot of fun and is exactly as described in the product description.

Perfect boot

Timberland Cadion Mid With Gore-Tex XCR Membrane - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 May 29, 2006

This is the best fitting hiking boot I have ever had. I have a low volume narrow foot and this boot seems like it was custom made. This leads me to believe this won't do real well on the market because I don't see how it would fit a normal size foot. Anyway, the boot is light, fits like a dream, and seems very rugged although I have not given it a good test in that regard yet. It also looks pretty cool with the yellow accents. Overall, I am very pleased and look forward to some big hikes with this boot.

Alpina Cross Terrain Ski

Alpina Cross Terrain Touring Ski

Rating for this product: 5 March 22, 2006

I was looking for a ski like this for a few years now: a wide-shaped ski with scales. This ski was exactly what I was looking for. I have even used them at the resort and what a blast watching the looks on peoples face when I turn around and start climbing uphill. They turn great, and climb great. Like all waxless skis, you loose a little bit of glide and on harder snow they are a bit noisy, but these are great skis for touring in rolling terrain. I give them a 5 +.
