Great light fleece alternative...

Ibex Vertigo Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 September 27, 2007

Just received this and have been wearing it the last couple of days in the cool mornings. Works great as a light fleece alternative (40-50F range) and looks great as well. I can wear it into the office without looking as if I just stepped out of the backcountry.

Let your dog carry its weight!

Ruffwear Palisades Pack II

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2007

I spent a lot of time checking out all of the dog packs on the market before settling on the Palisade. My dog took to the pack almost immediately - no problems with fitting or comfort, just the novel idea of carrying a load that quickly passed. It's a bit pricier, but it has all the features I was looking for and then some. In particular, the water bladders are a blessing as having to lug water for yourself and pooch on a long day hike on a hot day is unpleasant! In addition to the other features listed, the pack includes fleece lined belly straps for comfort and reflective piping for visibility. The removable saddle bags allow you to give your dog a break while on the trail or if it's going for swim. Overall, well worth the price!

Light weight protection....

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 June 14, 2007

The precip is a great alternative to packing the heavy 3-ply gore-tex xcr shell on hiking trips. It takes up significantly less space and weighs a lot less than the XCR, the perfect wind-breaker/foul-weather addition for the usually dry Utah climate.

Great sunglasses...

Oakley Big Square Wire Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 5 April 27, 2007

These are my second pair of oakley sunglasses - I started buying them after using their ski goggles. The lenses are great, cut glare, superior optical clarity, everything you need with style.

Rewards the aggressive...

G3 Reverend Ski

Rating for this product: 5 March 5, 2007

Great skis, definitely handles better at speed and rewards those willing to open the throttle. Terrific float, even when skinning uphill with a heavy pack.

Black Diamond Traverse Ski Poles

Rating for this product: 5 February 8, 2007

Switched to the flicklocks because I grew tired of taking my gloves off to adjust the twistlocks on a previous pair of bc poles. The flicklock is a huge improvement, easy to adjust with gloves on cold days.

A-frame = A+

Oakley A Frame Goggles

Rating for this product: 5 January 25, 2007

I'd already owned a pair of a-frames with the fire lens, but needed some persimmon lenses for those cloudy days. These work great, definitely worth the price to upgrade from less expensive goggles.
