small!
The North Face Heron 23 Tent 2-Person 3-Season
December 29, 2006
Stupidly, I ordered this without checking the dimensions. We have a basic 2-person tent and wanted a roomier one with a better rainfly for us and our dog. When we set this up in the basement it seemed smaller than the 2-person we have now! Probably it's a great tent if you're backpacking (good quality, pole design is ingenious), but calling it a 3-person is a joke.

Marmot Whirlwind Fleece Jacket - Women's
November 28, 2006
I wanted a very heavyweight fleece for hiking when it isn't quite down-jacket weather. This fleece is really heavy and thick -- high loft inside. It also fits superbly. I've tried Arc’teryx fleeces, and the small was too small to wear a sweater under, and the mediums fit weird because they were "fitted" but too big on the hips. I am a size 6, 5'7", 34B, and the medium on this Marmot fit perfectly -- beautifully contoured to the body but not tight. Zip pockets along the seams give a clean look. But BEWARE: I ordered the green, and the color is VERY bright, almost neon, NOT like in the picture! I almost returned it just because of the color (I didn't want black) but then sucked it up... but my boyfriend now calls me "froggy" when I wear it.

worth it
Lolë Mimi Jacket - Women's
November 28, 2006
I've looked a long time for the right down jacket and this is it: really warm but not super puffy, fashionable AND practical, and a great color (I got the green tea, which is a beautiful soft green). I am usually a size 6, 5'7", and the size 6 fits perfectly. I didn't think I'd use the zip-off sleeves, but I have worn it as a vest many times -- and it looks great. With the faux-fur trim (which looks really good) you can wear it out at night, then zip off the hood the next day for a dog walk. The sleeves have long stretchy interior cuffs with thumb holes that are great for keeping warm. The whole jacket is really well designed and very high quality. It was worth the money.

okay
Arc'teryx Covert Cardigan - Women's
April 26, 2006
Arc’teryx definitely designs things well: this fleece fit GREAT, is very high quality and the brown color is superb. Alas, I ordered the small and it is too tight over a sweater; fine over just a shirt (I am a 36B, size 6). I also didn't find it very "sweatery." The woven fleece is cool, but not all that different from regular fleece. I returned it to buy a medium in one of Arc’teryx's more basic fleeces.

short!
Patagonia Down Jacket - Women's
April 24, 2006
This is a super designed jacket -- it really does fit a women's body! So beautifully contoured! Sadly, I had to return it because it is just too short! I am 5'8" and the small fit like a dream but didn't even cover the bottom of my sweaters. Annoying. It needs about 3 more inches in length.

bad design!
Isis Seven Sisters Jacket - Women's
March 24, 2006
Nice puffy down, nice color...but I completely agree with the woman who reviewed the Isis long down parka: what's with the enormous biceps? There is WAY too much material on the arms. Who was this coat designed for?! I felt like a robot wearing the coat.

big!!!
The North Face Pumori Fleece Jacket - Women's
March 24, 2006
I should have listened to the other reviewers who described this jacket as big and baggy. It has WAY too much material on the arms and body, even over 2 layers. I am a size 6, 5'8", and the size small is just too baggy. Why lug all that extra material up a mountain? I found the overall length and sleeve length great, however.
