Can't take it off
Mountain Hardwear Micro Ozone Zip T-Shirt - Men's
March 17, 2006
I was looking for a zip-tee made of Polartec WindPro, and was delighted to find that Mountain Hardware had one. I love this fabric. It is really luxurious, comfortable and exceeds my expectations. Though the warmth is comparable to Polartec 100 under a shell, I often don’t need to wear an outer layer because of this fabric’s wind-resistance. A couple of comments suggested going a size up because of the alpine cut but I found that unnecessary. The cut is good, except the sleeves are rather relaxed. I bought this for an extended Bike Tour and decided not to take it because I like it so much. It has all the qualities of a winner in look, feel, comfort and function. This was a great find!

Luxury and performance
Arc'teryx Blaze Zip Long-Sleeve - Men's
March 10, 2006
Feels great, wicks well, worth the weight, handsome, obvious quality and craftsmanship. I prefer it over my Patagonia lightweight. The material, however, has not held up well, and one little snag on my clothesline pulled a thread. I do have it on right now, so what else can I say?

Powerstretch Glove
Black Diamond Powerstretch Glove
February 5, 2006
Very comfortable, the power stretch gives great dexterity and the Polartec provides enough thermal insulation for light use. The palms were uncomfortable when wet (worn as a base under a fleece liner and a shell). I was surprised that after only a week of use, a seam on the index finger is unraveling. I bought these as a base layer and a camp glove for an extended bike tour, and it is clear that I cannot trust this glove to last. I am disappointed in Black Diamond quality control. I rank these gloves 5 for fit and comfort, 4 for function, 2 for quality.

Rho SL Bottom
Arc'teryx Rho SL Bottom - Men's
February 3, 2006
This is my first Arc'teryx product. I purchased it for bicycle touring, as a base layer for cold or wet, or a light layer when tights are too heavy. At 4oz these are incredibly light and easy to pack. The quality of Arc'teryx is undeniable and these bottoms are so comfortable I really did forget I had them on. They are a pleasure to wear in any condition. Alone, they provide an extra 10 degrees warmth and as a base, they offer unmatched comfort. The material is sheer, so I do not expect them to be abrasion resistant, but for my purposes, they score a perfect 10. They are all ready one of my favorite garments.
