not too shabby
66 North Iceland Eldgja Jacket - Men's
March 29, 2007
good jacket. remember this is the high loft power shield. waist is too big for me, although i fit into the 66 North glymur just fine. Both jackets have a sleeve length problem, being too short and they ride up your arm if you try to move your arms around. great overall jacket. It may be best if you're short. More like a casual jacket. No cinch cords anywhere, and i need it at the waist, but neck is skin tight so you don't need to worry about that. overall, jacket is good

awesome jacket
Arc'teryx Diplomat ST Jacket - Unisex
May 7, 2006
Oh so warm! One of the coolest jackets I have. Don’t machine wash it, unless you have like a wool machine wash option on your washing machine, then I hear they turn out fine, otherwise you're supposed to dry clean it. It's not water resistant, so you have to bust out your rain shell if it starts pouring. It’s quite stylish.

freaking awesome
Arc'teryx Patriot SV Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
This is one of my favorite hardshells from Arc’teryx. I don't really like the SL jackets, they're not good enough to justify the price. This insulated Patriot SV is also is a little bit cheaper than the Fissions and it has an adjustable powder skirt, which is awesome to keep out the draft and snow. I highly recommend this Arc’teryx product.

not a bad jacket
Mountain Hardwear Soft Ride Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
I don't think it's seam taped, so I guess it's not a rain jacket. But it's worked in pouring rain, and the feeling is soft. It is pretty durable and I would give it a try if you don't have the money to buy the expensive Arc’teryx stuff. The powder skirt is not adjustable so that sucks. The hood is very well built.

MontBell America, Inc. Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket

Such an awesome addition to your gear collection. It's extremely lightweight and you look like you're wearing a trash bag. Not the best thing to wear around town, but if you're going to wear it underneath something, it's totally worth it. Much warmer than it seems.

Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
This jacket is pretty good if you like a close fitting jacket. I really like tighter fitting jackets (thus my Beyond Fleece jacket) but this one was too short for me. It sucked because when I went snowboarding with it, all the snow went up it and got my base layers soaked. It also rode up after some movement. But it's extremely warm and around town it's really awesome. From Mountain Hardwear, I really like the Heliark Jacket (but I think they discontinued it).

excellent jacket
Marmot Sharp Point Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
This is an awesome jacket. For me, I had to pick a size smaller than the other companies for it to fit me. I usually pick medium, but medium was too big for me. Really nice jacket but a Napoleon pocket would have been nice.

GoLite Kinetic Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
This is a really nice jacket. What I don't like is the zip-off option. You look like a rainbow bright. Also, I don't like where the Power stretch panels are! If you get caught in a drizzle, they just soak it all up without any water resistance. Otherwise it's a really awesome jacket. I went with the Momentum Jacket by Golite instead. It solved all my gripes here.

good rain jacket
GoLite Xirtam Jacket - Men's
May 7, 2006
Very soft rain jacket. Feels very much like a softshell, even though it's a hardshell. One of the best rain jackets I’ve tried. The only drawback is you look like you're wearing a bonnet with the hood on. I would highly recommend this product!
