you need to try on helmets!
Leedom Prophet Helmet
March 21, 2007
While I have been very happy with this helmet (not heavy, not too hot or cold, comfy, etc), you should base your helmet purchase decision on fit, and go try on as many helmets as you need to find the right one. I must have tried on 100 helmets and this was by far the most comfortable for my head shape. It's also important to make sure your goggles line up properly with the helmet so as to not get a small line of exposed flesh on your forehead. All that said, I really like the helmet, the vent switch, and the velour liner on the chin strap.

Native Eyewear Silencer Sunglasses - Polarized
March 21, 2007
I *love* these shades. I use them for everyday wear, cycling, sailing, motorbiking, etc, and was really heartbroken when I lost them. I wore an old pair of heavy, scratched up, uncomfortable sunglasses until giving in and buying another pair of these at full price. The lenses are easy to change, don't scratch easily, the frames are light, fit my smallish face and look good. Plus the polarization really cuts glare. A+!

Best Jacket Ever
Arc'teryx Beta AR Jacket - Women's
February 10, 2007
I reluctantly spent the extra money on this jacket and have been very glad that I did. Compared to other hard shells, it is much more flattering, and I don't feel like an outdoor geek when I wear it to out on the town on rainy nights. The Gore-Tex XCR is the best; I've worn this in a complete downpour for 4 hours and didn't get wet. When it's a bit warm, just open the pit zips. The hood is big enough to go over a bike helmet, but can be adjusted to fit just right. Really really thrilled with this purchase. HIGHLY recommend. Worth every penny .
