Cocoon Egyptian Cotton Travelsheet

Rating for this product: 4 February 19, 2008

Blankets at hostels are GROSS! Sometimes its too cold NOT to use them. This great little product puts a soft layer of clean between you and the "well used" blankets that are found in those "two star" resorts. This takes up less room than a Nalgene wide mouth bottle. Very much worth the room it takes up in your pack. Makes a good bag liner on those "sweaty" nights too.

Lorpen Merino Midweight Hiker Sock

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2008

Construction is top rate. Comfortable as all get out. Outlasting my other merino socks and I wear them twice as often. I'm a believer!

TNF nailed it!

The North Face Paramount Utility Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 February 19, 2008

I'm not a brand junkie by any means, but TNF has scored with this product. 3 days in mist and rain in Macau, and for as light as they are, I stayed warm and unexpectedly dry for the most part. Pants were completely dry after being indoors for ten minutes. Great security pockets, back pockets are large and deep enough to carry a passport size wallet. Extremely packable and they don't wrinkle. Good Stuff!

WE WANT MORE GOAT!

Backcountry.com Cairn Fleece Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 December 2, 2007

You've outdone yourselves. Great product, and the competition should take note. Technical specs rival top end producers. Moves well, great piece of gear. I want more!

What monsoon?

Marmot PreCip Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 July 11, 2006

Marmot PreCip lives up to the name and raises the bar. Monsoon season in Japan is no joke. Sideways rain doesn't penetrate this shell. I highly recommend a breathable long-sleeve underlayer to act as a barrier between your sweaty arms and the jacket. Only thing missing is an inside chest pocket. Great product!

Dry, and not even sticky!

The North Face Resolve Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 17, 2006

Rainy season in Japan, (think Seattle on a "bad" day) is a force to be reckoned with! These pants pass the test with shining colors. If you don't count the dirty looks I get from business-suited locals with drenched legs, it's all positive. The hook-and-loop closures at the ankles wrap tight around my boots, and I stay dry. Maybe North Face should make a business suit! Great buy, great gear, recommend to all who camp, commute, go outside in the rain for any reason.

bomber backpack!

The North Face Slingshot Backpack - 2000cu in

Rating for this product: 4 June 6, 2006

Totally rock solid exterior. Interior front organizing pocket is flimsy at best. A heavy set of keys on the key strap inside wouldn't last long in my estimation. North Face made a book bag, or a back-and-forth from work bag, not hiking pack really. A picture of the front organization pocket might have deterred me from buying this pack.

Heavy-duty Hoodie

Spyder Explorer Hoody - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 November 2, 2005

This fleece is a tank! Specs state that it is wind resistant. This is an understatement. This fleece is super warm but needs some breaking in. The hood was so stiff when it arrived, it stood up by itself. Machine washing takes care of that. The hood doesn't make that stupid "elf top", and this is super-sharp.
