Good, bright hat
The North Face Class V Hat
April 17, 2007
This hat is light and comfortable. I've worn it hiking and it's nice to have a hat that doesn't soak up my perspiration. The orange color is very attractive and has the added benefit that hunters will be less likely to shoot me on accident.

Rather tight fitting and what is the pocket for?
Arc'teryx Rho LTW Bottom - Women's
April 17, 2007
These are warm and allow for freedom of movement. The band that goes over the tummy is a little tight for my taste, and I'm not entirely sure what the pocket is for other than styling. Still, for someone as short as I am (5'0"), it's nice to have a baselayer that actually fits lengthwise.

Comfy and remarkably stylish pants
Outdoor Research Catalyst Pant - Women's
April 17, 2007
I am one of those people who wear hiking pants to work -- I admit it. These pants are wrinkle free, stain resistant, and totally comfy. They pass at the office as khaki type pants. I've taken them hiking as well and they vent well and are abrasion resistant. My one critique is that I wish they had back pockets.

Runs small
Arc'teryx Gamma LT Pant - Women's
February 13, 2006
These pants felt great, but they definitely run small. I'm a short person (5ft) and normally wear size 0 clothing. The XS pants nevertheless felt uncomfortably snug at the waist. I'd recommend buying a size larger than normal.

Great
Outdoor Research Accessory Strap - 1 Pair

These straps worked as they should. The closures require a good deal of pressure to close, but at least you know the straps won't slide!

Decent Gloves
Black Diamond Verglas Plus Glove - Women's
December 21, 2005
What I like about these gloves is that they are versatile, light, and have a removable liner. The downside is that liner is not particularly warm or sturdy looking, and the outer shell is only water resistant and not waterproof. As a warning to women with small hands, these gloves run large. I own the women's x-small, and I find that there remains about a half inch of excess space in the tips of the glove fingers. As a consequence I lose a lot of dexterity and warmth with these gloves.

Great versatile jacket!
The North Face Apex Magic Jacket - Women's
December 16, 2005
I recently wore this jacket as a layering piece on a windy, sub-freezing camping trip. Because this jacket is stretchy, slim fitting, and breathable, it was great for when I was moving around and hiking with my pack. You could feel the wind through this jacket, however, so I'd recommend layering it with a shell or wind shirt in cold weather. Although I like this feature, I should note that the sleeves tightly taper at the wrists. It makes checking the time difficult because my watch doesn't fit through the sleeve easily.
