Comfy Clog
Acorn Anorak Mule - Men's
December 4, 2007
I got these a month or so ago, and it is finally cold enough to wear them. They are awesome to slip into after skiing, or just to wear around town. These clogs are the most comfortable warm clogs I have ever owned.

Stick with other MH meals
Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Serving Entree
May 20, 2007
This is the least favorite Mountain House meal for me and most of the rest of the group. It was decent because it is easy to make and clean up, but I would rather clean up Kraft M&C than eat this again. It did not taste too bad and we all ate it. Use a little less water than directed and the consistency will be better. If you are really hardcore, drink the cheese juice leftover. I was not that extreme and packed out the juice. The guys that drank the juice were the same rotten banana eaters of the AlpineAire granola.

Eat Poison Ivy Instead
AlpineAire Strawberry Honey Granola with Milk
May 20, 2007
The other reviewers must work for AlpineAire, because it was horrid at best. How do you screw up granola? You are better off taking granola and dried milk and making it yourself. It tasted like cardboard. There were six of us on the trip and we all hated it. A couple guys came up with an edible recipe - 1. Add warm water, 2. cut top off rotten banana, 3. squeeze rotten banana into bag, 4. stir, 5. clamp nose, 6. gargle boiling water (to destroy taste buds), 7. pray and choke down.

Less Water!
Mary Janes Farm Organic Nick's Couch Potatoes
May 20, 2007
If you expect mashed potatoes, you will be disappointed - it is more like potato soup. Use less than the recommended amount of water and add half cup at a time and you may get better consistency. It did not taste horrible, but there are much better potato options for backpackers.

Oh Yeah!
Mountain House Beef Teriyaki with Rice - 2 Serving Entree
May 20, 2007
All six in our group loved the BT. It was easy to make, tasted great, and was easy to clean up. One bag per person is probably the right dose though. Make sure you mix it up really well. I am not sure how the other reviewers gave this less than 5 stars - I would like to go trekking with them because they must be eating like kings.

Perfect all-around medium-duty boot that performs great on short and long trips alike. It is super comfortable, with a short break-in period and good ankle support. The Vibram sole gives this boot just enough stickiness and durability. All-in-all the Wasatch GTX is an AWESOME boot!

Great Hiking shoe!
Chaco Flip Sandal - Men's
October 2, 2006
This flip flop is the best out there! I wear them all the time and they double as great hiking and approach shoes. The sole is tough and sticky; you won’t feel stones poking though from the trail. There is a bit of a break-in period that may give you a small sore from the webbing, but if you make it though that you will love them for a very long time!

Great all-around shoe!
La Sportiva Miura Climbing Shoe - Men's
October 2, 2006
The Miura’s are an awesome all around shoes for the climber that can never make up their mind on what style of climbing they are going to do that day. These shoes are real comfortable, edge great, and perform great in cracks and faces alike. The only down fall is that the laces are not as durable as the rest of the shoe, but a piece of thin cordelette corrects that problem.

Sturdy Trail runners
La Sportiva Cardiff Running Shoe - Men's
October 2, 2006
Running wise the Cardiff’s perform great on the trail and have enough support for the road as well. I have also used them on a few speed ascents over 5,000 ft and they held up great from the trail to the boulder fields. The rubber is very stick and the cushion is just enough. Overall great shoe!

Sweet Jacket
Patagonia Rain Shadow Jacket - Women's
February 28, 2006
This jacket rocks! Completely water proof and breathable. The zipper has a good amount of friction due to the tape used, but that also means a tight seal. No water getting in!
