One week in the Bitterroots
The North Face Fortress Peak GTX Hiking Boot - Men's
September 17, 2008
I just got back from a seven day journey through the Bitterroots of Idaho. First trip in the new boots. The reviews were right, they definitely run a 1/2 size big. I normally wear size 11 but had to send them back and get the 10 1/2. They handled me and my 60 pound pack for 10 miles w/o a problem. I have only one complaint about the boot. You can't trust them on wet rocks. Great for hiking, bad for boulder hopping.

Great Cargo's, Best Service Around
Burton Cargo Pant - Men's
March 11, 2008
This website is the KING! First let me say that these pants are fantastic. Keep you warm when you need to be warm and cool when you need to be cool (vents on inner thigh). I left one of the cargo pockets (and some skin) in a tree during flight on the first day I wore them, but the pant remained totally intact, not one tear. Called BC and they swapped me a new pair for the old ones, plus pocket with no cost to me at all!

Snow Peak Trek 700 Titanium Cooker
June 21, 2007
The Trek 700 Titanium Cooker is great if you don't have to boil much water. The handles get hot when the liquid level is above them. Better watch the lid also. You also can't fit the big snow peak gas cannister and stove inside. Think I should have went with the Trek 900.

Big Rock River Sandals
KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Men's
August 26, 2005
The Newport H2 Sandals are great for working water with big rocks. The toe guard sure saved my digits. One complaint: if the river you're riding has small rocks in the bed you'll be digging them out of your sandals all day.
