This is a great comfortable PFD. Nice and thick, seems to have more float that others. Can't go wrong with this vest.

Prolite 4 Short

Therm-a-Rest ProLite 4 Sleeping Pad

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2006

I have always been very tolerant to hard ground and bad sleep camping out, but finally I splurged and bought this pad in the short. My wife got the full length. I can even sleep on my side and be pretty comfortable. The back of my head doesn't go numb anymore. I kind of wish now I would have gotten the full lenth pad.

Katadyn Guide Water Filter

Katadyn Guide Water Filter

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2006

This filter is great, it pumps a ton of water fast, and is simple and small enough to take backpacking or where ever. I have started taking this just in case when I am on long bike rides or hikes so that I don't have to pack as much water and I can still drink as much as I need.

Highgear Summit Watch

Highgear Summit Altimeter Watch

Rating for this product: 5 August 17, 2006

This watch is awesome I have had it for just a few weeks now, and I especially love the Barometer. 2 weeks ago we were up in the Wind Rivers, and it was perfectly accurate. As we got into the cirque of the towers I thought for sure we were going to get pounded with rain but the watch only said cloudy, and it didn't rain. The next day it did say rain, and it was clear in the morning but a few hours later we had some severely rainy weather. This is the easiest weather gage there is. Most other watches you have to track how the numbers are changing and figure what kind of weather that will bring.

Good Eggs for being dehidrated

AlpineAire Scrambling and Omelet Egg Mix

Rating for this product: 4 August 17, 2006

First of all you do not need a pan to cook these they cook right in the bag, No mess. If you have ever had dehidrated eggs you know they are not quite like real eggs. I cooked some of this up in the Wind Rivers last weekend and they make a pretty good breakfast. If you want eggs fresh from the shell get the mini plastic egg cartons and pack them up in a cooler. I think these are the best dehydrated eggs I have had.

Great Board!!

Head Snowboards USA Intelligence I. CT Snowboard

Rating for this product: 5 January 16, 2006

This board with the Intelligence technology has an awesome feel. It absorbs vibrations and cushions your landings, and has a pretty soft flex when the board is not in motion but when you want to crank it and carve, it somehow stiffens up and holds strong, through deep carves.

Verdict Vinticates

Black Diamond Verdict Telemark Ski

Rating for this product: 5 December 9, 2005

This ski makes me think I know how to tele. I have the Linken Binding, and T1 Tele Boot. I have never felt solid in icy, cruddy, bumps, but the Verdicts smoothly crush through it all. They are lightweight for touring, make nice smooth big turns, and have a good pop in them to make it through the trees. For a resort ski, or backcountry you can't go wrong because the Verdict holds strong on whatever terrain you’re riding.

Ener-G G-Fit, Light and comfy,

Garmont Ener-G G-Fit Telemark Boot

Rating for this product: 5 July 20, 2005

I have used these for one winter season, probably about 25 days at the resort and six days in the backcountry. The boots have held up, except for the leash loops keep bending up and will eventually break off, and the snazzy logo on the power strap has torn off one boot. The past few years I have been on the original Scarpa T2's and I have had a really hard time holding an edge in the bumps or steeps, mostly because of painful boot pinch. I have been so comfortable in the Garmonts I sometimes won’t even take them off to drive home. The high ankle support and multiple buckles make it easy to relieve pain in your feet. This boot is Garmont’s most rigid boot, and drives the ski well over ice, bumps, steeps, and through trees. In the backcountry it is still very light for getting up and you can ski out of nastier descents with more control. This boot is lighter, but less stiff than the Scarpa T1.

Light, Fast, Rigid

Burton T6 Snowboard

Rating for this product: 4 July 20, 2005

This is my fifth snowboard over 10 years of snowboarding and no board has ridden as well in all conditions. I am about 5'9 and weigh 165 pounds and have ridden the T6 the last two seasons. This board hauls, holds an edge like a racer board, but is light enough and agile enough to rock the park, the trees, the bumps or anything else. The T6 took a little bit more work in the super deep powder, but this board overall is awesome.
