I'd been wanting a really good hard shell for the longest time but was hesitating because of the price. So it finally dawned on me that buying a bunch of cheaper jackets that I'd end up not wearing was actually more expensive than buying the one I really wanted. So I took the plunge and I'm delighted. This jacket is amazing! The cut is perfect, it's so stretchy and comfortable, very breathable, and totally waterproof. This is the last hard shell I'll ever have to buy.

I bought the newly redesigned R2 Jacket when it first came out and wore it to death. The new R2s have great fabric and features, cool colors, and improved styling. So, I wanted another one in a different color. Problem is that the second one was cut very differently than the first. So different, in fact, that I thought it had to be an XS marked as a Small. That's my only complaint about Patagonia stuff - the sizing can be somewhat inconsistent. On top of that, this year's Patagonia line is cut smaller and longer than past season stuff. But that said, Patagonia is still the best outdoor clothing in terms of quality, function, and style and I'll keep buying it.
