Casual yet functional
The North Face Montague Crew Sweater - Women's
5 days ago
Agreeing with the last review, this sweater is great in a variety of areas. I wear it for mostly fashion (winter ski town goddess kind of stuff) - but it's also great if you are doing something semi-active in the cold and have it under a coat. Gotta love the stuff that provides function and fashion in one piece of clothing.

The North Face Savage Beagle Henley Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's
5 days ago
Cool "around the house" or casual laid back weekend type of shirt, the 45% rayon is a nice addition on the comfort side, as I'm not a huge cotton fan.

Warm, Dry, Love them.
The North Face Chilkats Winter Boot - Men's
5 days ago
Sick for sloshing around in the woods, through mud, snow, and super warm. I actually bought these things to wear with snowshoes in upstate NY which they are awesome for, but they work as a great all purpose winter boot as well.

Love the material. Size down.
The North Face Ascent Tank - Women's
Sweet blend of material, the polyester makes a nice light blend. The fit is great, but the north face an run a bit large and this is supposed to be a snug fitting active top so I would say go a size down when ordering.

The North Face Vitesse Fusion Tank - Women's

Very versatile light but durable fabric, the pocket on the back is pretty cool it allows me to take a key, and a credit card/ID if I decide to stop at the liquor store at any point on my evening jog.

Dig the style.
The North Face Montague Crew Sweater - Women's
5 days ago
It goes like this, this is a prefect sweater to watch a soccer game from the stands in November but also has a ski town hip flare to it that's timeless. It can serve well under a coat when walking around town or on short hikes when the weather is brisk, works great all around.

This thing is like what mermaids need
Arc'teryx Naos 45 Backpack - 2500-2870cu in
May 1, 2007
So if were a mermaid and I've never been one so this is all speculative - I'd buy one. When I got to land and needed to float to watch handsome beach-princes toss frisbees to dogs and blast gulls with bread crumbs I'd inflate the pack and use it as a flotation device. Then when I needed to dive back my village I would deflate all air, and put my electronics in the main compartment, diving to 20,000 leagues - with a dry digital camera the whole time. But I am not a mermaid and at this point it looks like I'll never become one (which sucks) so I will just use this bag for canyoneering and keeping beer dry in the rain.

Jetboil Personal Cooking System
May 1, 2007
Everyone should have one. Even people who don't like coffee. Light this thing up at the office each morn at your desk while you're banging out your email, keep the dollars in your pocket, and the smell of gas in the office air.

Why I got one
Jetboil Group Cooking System with 1.5 Liter Cooking Pot
May 1, 2007
SO this thing completely rocks. I have made elaborate 3 course meals in the Outback and impressed all my diners. It even works nice at a low temp to saute. I have the coffee press part and I make coffee on long road trips in places like Central Indiana where I can say after 6pm and before that in most places you can't find yourself a decent cup of coffee to save the life of a minimalist rat. Although likely not recommended fire it up in the passenger seat...you got french pressed coffee in no time. Like a 5 dollar cup of coffee. I use nothing else and would yell at people who do.

Sigg Lifestyle 1.0 Liter Bottle

This bottle is the best on the market. Lightweight hip Euro-amazingness with designs that would write a fashion magazine they are so dang cool. No leeching, no bad tasting. Put whiskey in this sucker one day, then when the hangover hits, rinse er out with hot water, fill er with water to get back on track, and it will taste pure, fresh, no 80 proof aftertaste.

Best hospital shoes, and hot!
Dansko Professional Oiled Casual Clog - Women's
February 21, 2007
These clogs are the royal treatment for the feet when standing in the hospital for 12-15 hour shift. My feet love me again. They take a little while to break them in and I would not recommend wearing them for long periods of time before they are broken in. But when they are they are like foot massages from Greek gods with funny Scandinavian halos and silly tussled hair. Plus they make your ankles, calves, and whole long legs look hot.

Absolutely the best shades ever. I wear em on the river, on the rock, hiking, mountaineering, biking, driving...eating. I have for years searched high low and semi-in-the-middle which means the midwest where nobody has cool shades. I am now there king.

Super warm, Super tough
Black Diamond Patrol Mitt
February 21, 2007
These mitts are bomb proof in construction, the leather palms are grippy as you could want. I have the Patrol Gloves too, and these are much toastier on a freezing Wasatch powder day, when riding my motorcycle in the sleet, or carrying some beers across the snow to a Deer Valley hot tub.

Tough, but freezing
Black Diamond Patrol Glove
January 26, 2007
Super durable, grippy, bomber leather. I love the gloves, they are awesome skiing most Utah days...But honestly, once you pad the fleece lining down a little, the have such poor warmth quality that I can't recommend them. I actually wore through the fleece in the fingers after skiing 10 day, there are little holes at my finger tip. So durable, but terrible on the warmth.

A hidden treasure
The North Face Swirl Allure Ski Jacket - Women's
January 26, 2007
This is on of the best ski jackets on the site. The styling is awsesome, the swirl patten is so hip, the cut is perfect. The neck has warm warm fleece at the neck, and the other shell fabric is so tough. I can ski through the trees snagging branches like mad, not even a mark on the jacket. And then I wear it dining in Park City.

Solid Pant and Great Price
The North Face Freedom Pant - Men's
January 23, 2007
The construction on these is solid. They are pretty light, and they are at the bottom end of the price range. For a tough winter pant, these'll do the trick, and will hold up through all kinds of abuse including dryer fires.

Marmot Expedition Mitt
January 11, 2007
These mitts are super warm but the durability is terrible. If you buy them for light resort skiing they'll be fine, but anything more, they'll split on the sides, and by anything more I do mean gripping the steering wheel too tight.

Thermos like a missile!
GSI Outdoor Glacier Stainless Vacuum Bottles
January 11, 2007
This is the best vacuum bottle I have owned, coffee stays warm for an entire day of backcountry skiing, and also works as an awesome coffee shop piece - sit around with your Mac in Boston, and you'll be the hippest person there - that is, if you remember to put your goat sticker from this website company on the bottle first!

You won't see thousands of people in this sweatshirt, and in any situation you are likely the only one, so get one, and you will be the hippest person in a hoody, in any crowd! I'm buying more for Christmas! And someday, these will be everywhere! best outdoor logo ever!

Garmont Sticky Cat Approach Shoe - Men's
November 19, 2006
Killer approach shoe! Used on 14,000 ft peaks in Colorado, and day hikes in Utah. Works well all around and better than ANY technical approach shoe out there! My sled dog chewed on 'em for 45 minutes and quit. Plus they're comfortable beyond imagination, slightly wide but cinch down so tight that they are a regular width. Only goodness from this shoe!

Chaco Z/1 Unaweep Sandal - Men's
November 6, 2006
Compare this to the Z2 and you have a dead draw. The strap system you like will make the decision. Someday I like the toe strap, someday I don't. If you don't want the toe strap, there's no better sandal on the planet.

Salomon Rush 8.0 Alpine Ski Boot - Women's
November 3, 2006
The Rush line is quite fab. I like the 8's a little better than the 9's, but can hardly tell the stiffnes difference. I am very perfomance-oriented, which is why I bought the boots, but I would never buy boots again without the warm fuzzy lining! Comfortable and high performing.
