Love my Whitney

Gregory Whitney 95 Backpack - 5309-6285cu in

Rating for this product: 5 November 24, 2004

This is an extremely comfortable pack that carries heavy weight extremely well. The numerous access panels on the pack are a real plus....no need for dumping out everything in your pack to find something. I love the separate pocket for a sleeping bag, but even better the fact that the bottom of the pack is made of rubber, which is essential if you’re carrying a down sleeping bag that has to stay dry. From the hydration pocket, to the rubber bottom, to the numerous access panels, this is well thought out pack. This bag is ideal for anyone traveling long distances, or with lots of weight. I Love my Whitney!!!

good summer tent

Mountain Hardwear Airjet 2 Tent 2-Person 3-Season

Rating for this product: 4 November 21, 2004

This is a good late spring, early fall, or summer tent. The tent is extremely light and takes up very little room inside your pack compared to other tents in its class. The venting system inside the tent is good, although not ideal for windy conditions. One thing I don't like about this tent is that fact that the section from the floor of the tent up about 6 inches on the wall on the perimeter of the tent is screen material not tent material. Although the rainfly covers this exposed area, once you stake out the fly there is a exposed gap that the wind easily goes under....which can be extremely chilly in the middle of the night when it's windy. Even though the write up on this tent mentions, an improved tension shelf...don't be fooled. I expected a shelf that hangs from the middle of the tent, as I have had on previous tents. The so called shelf that is included with this tent is a extremely small pocket this is about 15 inches long and only deep and wide enough to fit maybe a credit card in. This tent will not support a hanging shelf.....I already called Mountain Hardwear to ask. All in all I think this is a great tent, extremely light weight, and easy to setup and take down. I just wouldn't recommend taking this tent out in the winter.
