Great product only small tires

Thule Spare Me

Rating for this product: 3 June 23, 2008

Love the carriage and the ability to fold down into compact position. However, did not like the fact that it does not allow my spare tire (31X10.5 R15)enough length on the sleeve for the spare tire carrier, it was 4" short. I'm not even sure it would fit on the stock 30" Wrangler jeep tires/rims. Took it to local welding shop for some help. Although due to the size of the carrier frame, you wont get this on a taller tire since it folds out and the back bar extends above the tire tread. Great product, just disappointed that it doesn't accommodate a larger sized tire. I know there's a ton of Jeeps out there with 30" & 31" that would love to make this carrier work. Other than the size issue, 5 star product.

Great active glasses

Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Sunglasses - Polarized

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2008

I have a pair of Oakley half-jackets. However, they've gotten very well worn and wanted to try something new. The polarized lens is something you'll never do without again. These glasses are not that dark, for bright sunny conditions make sure to get the reflex lenses. These glasses are light and breath more than the Oakley half jackets. If they last as long as my Oakley's, I will have to give the nod to these with all the features included (extra straps, lens, earpiece frames). Whatever you're doing hiking, mtn biking, kayaking, fishing, and even golfing I'm very happy with them never fogging and light comfortable fit that you can wear for hours.

Pretty comfy

Fox Racing High Frequency Bike Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2008

Nothing too baggy or tight and has good length to fend off the brush. Shorts don't get hot compared to some others. If you're confident about your waist size, then you'll be fine with std sizes. If you're trying to fool yourself, better size one up with the slim fit on these shorts for comfort. Either way they will fit. They were not kidding about the stash pocket. Max capacity is cell-phone, keys, and a balled-up power bar at best (just screw the phone & make your friends drive so the powerbar has plenty of room). Good shorts, would not hesitate to buy another pair.

better than t-shirt

Fox Racing Attack Bike Jersey - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2008

Thought shirt was a bit pricey, but after wearing and washing over 12x in 3weeks, decided quality was good. I went with the XL and the fit is good (normally wear in between L & XL)so if you're not sure, size up just in case. The mesh is great, don't get sunburnt through it, but get plenty of cool air while riding. Glad I bought this shirt, probably will try some other Fox shirts due to lack of color selections.

so sweet and simple

Yakima BedHead Truck Bed Mount

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2008

So I was too cheap and didn't want the clumsy hitch mount for my truck. Originally was worried about how stable they would be. You have nothing to worry about for our normal everyday city/highway/interstate runs. They install and remove in less than 60 seconds and I bet you can get 4 bikes in a std 6ft bed. My All-Mountain Bike fits in between the wheel wells on 1/2 ton GM truck. These turned out better than I had imagined. No worries purchasing this Yakima product.

comfortable and breathable

Giro Xen Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 June 23, 2008

Ventilation is pretty nice not to mention sweet styles to choose from. If you measure you're melon and its 57 according to website sizing chart, go up to a large. The only way a medium will fit is with little/no hair and at it's largest size setting. The large will tighten enough into med range. Tried several other helmets on and this was the best (roc loc 4 style) out of other GIRO and BELL brainbuckets. Happy with this purchase thus far.

a shoe that does it

Shimano America SH-M122 Mountain Bike Shoe

Rating for this product: 4 June 23, 2008

Shoe is holding up fine. Velcro stays in place and it's pretty nice to get shoes on/off quickly. The soles/cleats are rubber and don't provide as much grip as I would have thought on rocks and etc. The waterproof sticker is kinda lame to apply above the cleat but since I don't plan on swimming in em, no worries. Be sure to use Shimano sizing chart, I don't think the BC chart is good representation for these shoes. Shimano sizing was true fit. For the money, I couldn't find a better shoe.

compact quality

Brunton Eterna Compact Binocular

Rating for this product: 5 September 18, 2007

For a 10x25 this really has a great clear image and handles the low-light pretty good. Comes with neckstrap and lens covers that packs/detaches quickly. Pretty nice feature along with the eye cups that expand out. Left em out in the cold 20 degree with rain/slush, and had no problems next morning. Light easy focus and compact. Had other 10x25 that don't compare to Brunton and good optics are worth every penny if you spend decent amount of time glassin hillsides. Nice one Brunton.

ya it works

CamelBak Tube Trap

Rating for this product: 4 September 18, 2007

Got to be alittle careful, this doesn't always fit on most packs wide shoulder straps. Probably more designed for day packs and etc. The overnighters have wider straps and the clip doesn't quite make it across the whole way. I didn't have any problems falling off or losing despite the anything but perfect fit. That was a plus.

CamelBak Omega HydroTanium Hydration Reservoir

it fits, no worries

Coleman 5-Foot Pressure Hose and Adapter

Rating for this product: 5 September 14, 2007

Looked forever at regular stores to find the attachments needed to use the std 5gal propane bottle with coleman stoves/grills and had no luck. Bought this from BC and everything is fine and dandy with my coleman stoves/grills and using the propane bottle at home or off the camper. Cheaper than buying the little bottles all the time when car camping or at home in the yard. Line comes with regulator and works with my roadtrip grill and pretty sure it will work with my fold-n-go as well.

Wildwasser 3 Kayak Wall Rack

Rating for this product: 4 July 20, 2007

Item was easy to setup and use. Threw my 14" tandem on and wondered if I could really put more on it. Don't think I'm gonna try but it will for sure handle three small kayaks or one heavy and a single light boat. Better limit the heavy ones with this rig. Sturdy hooks and plastic buckles worked well and it does save space in the garage. Inexpensive boat storage that works and makes me happy.

warm soft beanie

The North Face Flash Fleece Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 July 9, 2007

This beanie has turned out to be one of my favorites. The fleece is ultra plush soft and warm for the old melon along with not squeezing your head off from circulation. It doesn't fit like its worn out and can be blown off with a gust of wind. It's a good soft fit. This beanie has worked well for me when camping, wear it all night after sun goes down and keep it on to sleep in. I've had other The North Face beanies, but this one is the softest and most comfortable I've tried.

addictive comfort

Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer Brief - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 20, 2007

Never thought I would pay this much for a boxer, but now I own more than one pair. These are awesome, better than Patagonia and REI brand label. So comfortable you forget your wearing them and don't pickup funky smell like UnderArmour boxers after long day of use. These don't fit tight to your leg or have to worry about them sliding down as you wear them out and about. Best boxer I own (tried 5 different brands that are same type and material).

perfect summer/water sandal

KEEN Venice H2 Sandal - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 June 19, 2007

Easy on/off sandal with great fit, toe protection, and ventilation. Break in time real quick, no worries about having stiff sandal for whole summer before they feel good. Work great for playing on the shore & jumping in/out of boats or day at the lake. They don't slip while walking around in water and dry out quickly. Great sandal after long hikes and casual wear. Surprised how well they grip on dry rock/flat surfaces. Not designed for hiking w/pack but perfect for everyday use and summer play to keep your feet cool. These don't have the top foot support of Newports but do keep your feet much cooler. Sizing was true for me, wear 10.5 and fit good. No funky gaps which worry me when I order sandals. Nothing to be disappointed about here, very happy.

bright lite light

Brunton Lamplight - Extendible LED Flashlight

Rating for this product: 5 June 7, 2007

Needed a good tent light so I didn't have to wear my headlamp inside. Pleasant surprise is that this thing acts like a nice spotlight up to 20yds. The lantern feature casts good light throughout the tent, good enough to see what you need and can read though relatively soft. While the lantern feature is on, it still casts the spot feature so if you need some extra light to check something outside or for reading, it's right there so no need to adj the light. Found the item to be lighter than expected which was a bonus. Pretty happy thus far, didn't expect to be let down coming from Brunton.

CamelBak Alpine Explorer Hydration Pack - 3L

Rating for this product: 4 March 26, 2007

This pack works great for day trips, biking, and winter trips up the mountain. Great fit and plenty of room for all your day-trip tools whether you're packing for bad weather or going backcountry. Reminds me of Dakine pack quality, that's a good thing. Little heavier than I'd like, but that what makes them last. Camelback is just bladders and bottles, they actually put together a decent pack.

comfortable sock

Lorpen Merino Ski Socks

Rating for this product: 4 March 26, 2007

The sock is a great weight (mid). Not too heavy for skiing and not so light that you use them once and your toes wear through. Warm and the merino really has me hooked. Sock fits great (freedom in the feet) without feeling like shrinkwrap around your foot and they stay up high all day. Seeing some threads coming loose but that's been after about 15 washes and has no impact on fit or performance. Nothing to be concerned about, great sock that I will buy again for the money.

Ex Officio Air Strip Lite Short-Sleeve Shirt - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 July 17, 2006

This is one of my favorite shirts of all time. The lightest, quickest-drying shirt that you can wear anywhere. Feels like you're wearing next to nothing. Shirts will run a little on the large side and be loose fitting. Super comfortable. Would have been a 5, but like all Ex Officio, they are pricey. Once you buy one, you'll want another.

A Campers Must

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Sleeping Pad - Rectangular

Rating for this product: 5 July 17, 2006

This pad is a must for everyone who has trouble sleeping on the ground. It's a little heavier than other options and takes a few more breaths than a Thermarest, but if you want to sleep well this is it. No more shoulders or arms going numb from sleeping on my side against the ground. You can lay this thing on a bed of jagged rocks and you won't feel a single one. If there is one piece of gear that keeps me out longer or more often in the back country, this is the one that makes the difference.

Rating for this product: 4 July 17, 2006

Alright, these boots are ridiculously warm. These things would have saved the dinosaurs. I ended up shying away from using them because they are incredibly warm. They're the greatest boot for standing around in freezing temperatures. If you're snowshoeing or anything active you'll find they are too much. They fit a little loose in the heal. If you are in-between sizes, size down! 10.5? Get a 10! Ideal boot for dormant outdoor winter activity. Nobody gets cold feet with these. More hardcore boot than I had realized.

This shoe is much cooler than Salomon shoes of comparable style. The Vibram sole will take whatever you can dish out. You use these at work and on the trail and save your feet.
