Therm-a-Rest Ridge Rest Sleeping Pad
September 13, 2004
The ThermARest Ridge Rest is my first sleeping pad and I was sorely unimpressed on a recent trip. Our tents were set on a fairly flat section of a sand dune. It provided very minimal support and I tossed and turned constantly. I've learned that you definitely should not rely on just this pad to make you comfortable.

Excellent Product
Petzl Tikka Plus Headlamp
September 13, 2004
The Tikka Plus is truly amazing. 4 levels of light (high, medium, low, strobe) in such a compact and comfortable package. Light is a pale while color. Effective distance is likely more than enough for most camping situations. Used it while cooking, getting ready for bed, walking, and yes...even the bathroom. This hands-free light is outstanding.

Kelty Light Year Sleeping Bag: 25 Degree Down
September 13, 2004
Recently purchased this bag in preparation for a kayaking/camping trip in the San Francisco Bay area. Overnight weather grew chilly and extremely moist. Despite concerns with down bags and wet conditions, I did not feel cold. Major plus is the packability of the bag. I can stow it in my backpack's sleeping bag compartment with space to spare.
