The North Face Roadhog Cargo Short - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 May 10, 2007

Annoyances: Snap button closure, tiny Hook-and-loop closure patches on pockets which will stop working after a season; zipper is cheap. Other than that, nice town pants. Wouldn't take them into the wild.

A handy, almost indestructible camp light

Primus Micron Lantern

Rating for this product: 5 July 21, 2004

I love this little lantern. It sat out in the rain and mist for four solid days, was dropped from about 3 or 4 feet onto a wooden table, then fell to the floor. Eventually a tear finally appeared in the mantle after more abuse in my pack, but the thing is indestructible. One of the reasons I bought it: no glass globe. The metal screen does filter light out, but the light is perfectly good for a small to medium size campsite. One word of advice: the instructions for setting the mantle onto the correct position are a little unclear. It should not sit all the way at the bottom of the post. Also, the mantel seems HUGE. Don't worry, it will burn down. Love this little guy. Missing: a plastic keeper box. Even though it is rock solid, it might be nice anyway.
