Comfy and cool

Patagonia Puckerware Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Mens

Rating for this product: 5 April 30, 2008

I have a few of these shirts and find them exceptional. They look great and are extremely comfortable. The cotton is breathable and virtually impossible to wrinkle. They look good enough to wear to work and comfortable enough to play in. It is a great versatile travel shirt. The sizing runs large. I had to return the large for a medium even though other Patagonia shirts fit well in large for me. Expensive but very nice.

Good for work or play

Patagonia Fezzman Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 April 30, 2008

This is probably the nicest looking of the Patagonia shirts. It fits in very well at work but is still very comfortable. The cotton material is soft and breathable as well as wrinkle resistant. I have several and they look great and feel great.

A little big but functional

Brunton Atmospheric Data Center Summit

Rating for this product: 4 April 30, 2008

This product seemed to work well but for me, it was a little bulky. I was also concerned about the durability of the wind sensing impeller since it does not have a cover. Ultimately, I returned this because of these reasons and will probably get the Trail Tech Altitech which is slightly smaller but with less features. If you do not mind the bulk and need the functions, I think it would work great.

Nice outdoor shirt

Mountain Hardwear Gradient Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 April 30, 2008

This is a very comfortable shirt for outdoor activity. It is a nice cotton blend fabric so it is not as "nylony" as some of these type shirts can be. It is probably not the type you would wear to work (depending on where you work of course) but it looks great for hanging out. It also makes a good travel shirt because it is wrinkle resistant and versatile for sightseeing or a dinner out. I felt the sizing was accurate.

Doesn't miss a beat

Nike Timing Triax C10 Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Rating for this product: 5 July 19, 2006

I have used the C10 for road biking and running with great results. The chest strap is reasonably comfortable and stays in place. The watch has more features than I need and I am still trying to establish my training intervals for programming. The watch is a little heavy for regular wearing but is nice looking and works very well. If you are really serious about your training this is a great choice for you. If you just want to monitor your heart rate, the C10 may be a bit of overkill.

Great shell with generous cut

Mountain Hardwear Interconnect Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 17, 2006

I used this shell for spring skiing. It is a great weight. Light and relatively thin but with complete wind protection. For hot days you can wear a T-shirt and open the vents. For hot days you can add a mid layer. The jacket has a generous cut and long sleeves. I am generally at the high end of a large. I first bought the XL jacket, and the sleeves nearly came past my fingertips. I returned that for the large, and even the large sleeves are well past my wrist. There is plenty of room inside for a thick mid layer if you need it, making the jacket very versatile. My only complaint is the pockets are not very deep. For instance, you cannot really put a sunglass case in any of the pockets (except the water bottle pocket) as they are not deep enough. Overall, I really like this jacket.

Nice spring glove

Cloudveil Spring Troller Glove

Rating for this product: 5 March 17, 2006

I just returned from some beautiful spring skiing in Snowmass. This glove worked quite well for the sunny spring days. They were wind proof as advertised and did well. The long gauntlet was nice and I tucked it inside my jacket sleeve and tightened the jacket cuff for excellent protection. Finger dexterity was very good and I could work my zippers, snaps, open the trail map, etc. with the glove on. They were nice for just wearing around town at night also. For really cold, overcast days, they may be too light. I used a heavier glove on the colder days.

The shirt is good looking and comfortable but you kinda need to iron it which is not my favorite activity.

Comfortable Shades

Smith Frontline Sunglasses

Rating for this product: 4 July 7, 2004

These glasses are comfortable and offer good lens coverage for me, particularly blocking light from overhead. The frame was tight at first but is more comfortable after wearing for a while. I have long eye lashes but there is plenty of clearance so that is not a problem. The only negative is that the polarized lenses are not available yet and if you do anything on water or snow, you would be foolish not to have polarized lenses.
