Five Ten Anasazi VCS C4 Sole Climbing Shoe
May 27, 2005
Don't order a whole size up if you want a performance fit. Either order your street shoe size or a half size smaller. These are great shoes, and the ones I wear for the hard projects.

Petzl Spatha Knife
February 6, 2004
Like another reviewer said, it doesn't open easily with one hand, but it will using one hand and say, pressing the bottom of the handle against some part of your anatomy or clothing. Anyways, I'm glad it doesn't open easily since I've had other one hander's that open by themselves while banging around on your gear loop (now that is dangeous) the spatha wont do this. Its not that sharp, but is sharp enough. Its tough, and fulfills its usage parameters.

The North Face Base Camp Duffel Bag - 2560-9070cu in
February 6, 2004
I've used mine for many a trip, skiing in Utah, Colorado, camping across the US, my primary luggage for flight to Belize for a month of eco-touring, many camping and climbing trips. It's very roomy and tough, my stuff has never gotten wet either in the rain. Backpack mode is my favorite.

Metolius Multi Loop Gear Sling
February 6, 2004
This sling is all it says it is. Comfortable, easy to organize the rack, and very adjustable and tough. Use mine every trip to the old crag whether just setting up topropes or in traditional mode leading. Get one of these and never have to carry around a pack, just wear your harness and strap everything else on!

The North Face Venture Pant - Mens - 2003 Model
February 6, 2004
I really like these pants, though I hesitate to say they are the best, but why not. The are pretty light, fit very well, and have an excellent texture in and out. Full out waterproof cheap, and packable.

The North Face A5 Crag Pant - Mens 2003 Model
February 6, 2004
These are good pants, excellent ease of movement, great fit and comfort. Only problem is, I climb in them so much they are starting to wear out from all the hits on the rock! Maybe TNF softened them too much for comfort, oh well- get me another pair!

The North Face Freedom Pant - Mens
February 6, 2004
These are nice pieces o' work. The fit is baggy and they look cool, and perform like technical outerwear should. Plenty of movement for pullin off tricks. Good price, but my only complaint is that they don't have enough pockets and they don't seem to be built very ruggedly. Vents work well.

I like it.
The North Face Salathe Fleece Jacket - Men's
February 6, 2004
It's a simple piece but does its job, a warm lightweight layering option. Soft and comfy, it fits well enough. I don't know about the stretch elastic bottom hem, but it's fine, maybe just looks a little bunchy. The right weight for higher exertion activity in the cold under a shell.

Why Not wear it to the movies?
The North Face Apex Ventilation Shirt - Mens
February 6, 2004
I picked up this shirt and I'm glad I did. Nice pockets (lots of them and cool hidden ones). Only complaints are it pills a little in moderate abrasion areas, and it is not that cool in tropical climes. It was decent tho and has good ventilation and is just about the most technical shirt I've seen. Good stretch fabric too. double layer elboes. Multi hidden pockets good for stashing your passport etc.

The North Face Switchback Trail Shoe - Mens
February 5, 2004
These here shoes are pretty sweet. They have great traction even without the little scorpion spikes, but with them they do good in snow and thin ice. That's the thing, don't expect those plastic spikes to do anythihng on hard ice patches, it takes metal to find traction there. Still these shoes are comfy, technical, run/hike shoes that make me smile.
