Quality is good, logo is...off
Arc'teryx Outline Logo T-Shirt - Short-Sleeve - Men's
2 days ago
I really like the material Arcteryx used for the t-shirt, this is the 4th one for me, and I really like it. Only two problems: Sizing is off as all of Arcteryx casual wear. i wear size L t-shirts (hanes or whatever, heavy weight ones yaknow) but I ended up with medium this time. My bud bought same shirt, and he said his shirt ran small, so he bought size up. So if you are not sure, buy two sizes. Also, my shirt had the logo way high and left on the chest, seemed they misprinted or something. oh well.

Comfortable indeeeeeed
Arc'teryx Arc Tools T-Shirt - Men's
May 21, 2008
Very comfortable soft shirt, wear it for casual day. Unlike other folks who left feedbacks here, mine ran big, one size big perhaps. I always wear size L shirt, but L size was way too big, especially around the waist was way way too big. Needed M.

Lap top compartment thickness...
Arc'teryx Blade 21 Backpack - 1281cu in
May 21, 2008
Okay, so here's the problem. The PC compartment is way too wide, unless I have bunch of files in it, my PC will jump around a lot. Arc needs to install strap or extra pocket to keep a PC down. The rest are great, very comfortable indeed.

Great everyday Pack!
Kelty Redtail Backpack - 1800cu in
May 12, 2008
I use it everyday for commute, very lightweight, good admin pocket to keep my pens and other little things organized, good shoulder straps and padding. I was afraid about the durability of the fake nylon material that Kelty uses, but so far i had 4 months and keep going strong.

Interesting design, wish it has cup holder
Arc'teryx Blade 21 Backpack - 1281cu in
May 12, 2008
I bought it mainly for my business travel. I wasn’t sure about the side access on computer and pen pockets, and I’m still not sure if I like the idea. My pens would stay down, but the rest of little things are always all over the place. Computer compartment is nicely padded, in fact the whole pack is padded somehow. I do however wish the middle compartment has more space, so I can store my travel items in there. Oh, and cantee holders would be really nice for traveling...

Work and Fun, love it
Arc'teryx Motive Polo - Short-Sleeve - Men's
March 15, 2008
The material is super soft and light. The only complaint is the sizing, as many Arcteryx, it is made in Asia, and sizing was off again (seems their casual wear is always off). I wear size Large cotton shirt, I picked up Large, but it was huge around my waist. Aside of sizing, this is great shirt, I wear it for work (tucked in...ugh), then pull it out for night out, no problemo.

Very slippery & noisy
Oakley SI Assault Boot - Men's
March 4, 2008
Bought them for my work in the desert, my bud in the Army recommended them. But once I hit the wet surface, they slip and make squeaky noise....Eh, doesn’t the army guys have to be stealthy and not making noise? Anyways, the ankle support and fit are great right out of the box. I just wish they will fix the sole design. I won’t use them for hiking or scrambling, just suicidal.

Almost perfect (shoulder strap is no-no)
Patagonia Lightwire Brief Bag - 1600 cu in
February 19, 2008
I was using the Lightwire tote bag for 2 years, then we got this new big computer from work, which could barely fit it. Also the tote didn't have any space once my PC was in. The new Lightwire Brief bag solves the all of the problems mentioned above. And it even has a water bottle pocket, large main compartment, and place to stick a magazine or paper. I can't ask anymore!! but not so fast. I hate the shoulder strap came with the bag, it has a slit in the middle to hold the handle and shoulder strap together while attached to the large rolling bag. Well, the slit in the middle is very annoying when I carry the bag on my shoulder. They also tend to slip if I'm wearing soft shell jacket. I guess it was designed to be worn over a dressy jacket, but I really think Patagonia makes lousy shoulder strap. That's why this bag doesn't get 10. But overall this is great bag.

Excellent travel shoes
Merrell Chameleon II Stretch Hiking Shoe - Men's
February 3, 2008
I wore these for over 4 years, mainly traveling, working, and on weekend. I've used them in Middle East, Far East, and winter in North America. Never felt uncomfortable wearing them in any condition, dry, heat, wet, snow (though be aware these are not waterproof, thereâ's Gore-tex version exist, but because I intend to wear in the desert environment, I didn't choose that option). Chameleon sole seem to hold up really well, though after 4 years they start loosing grip on wet metal surface. To my surprise the bungee lace is still going strong after 4 + years. Not the best looking shoes, but they get the job done. Some of my friends in the military and police also wear them on duty and they swear these are the best. I'm glad this site offers Merrell now, one stop shop for everything!

Too heavy for a day hiking boots
Merrell Chameleon Wrap Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boot - Men's
February 3, 2008
They are mid-high cut boots- I didn't read the small writing and ended up returning them. They are not as high support boots as I wanted. Also they felt narrower than my other Merrells. Weight is also on the heavier side for the intended use of light weight day hiking. I think these boots are long overdue from overhaul.

Simply poor design travel bag
Patagonia WeatherShed Max Rolling Gear Bag
February 3, 2008
I was not impressed. This is VERY heavy bag. They lack compartment, forcing me to buy some organizing cubes & bags on top (adding cost & weight). The design and skin look really cool, but once I started using I noticed some design problem, such as the central opening (not as functional as I thought), location of the bottom buckle (after dragging on the floor it picks up every dirt & gavages on the road and jammed easily, plus it broke). I noticed Patagonia dropped the Weather-shed product line…I think I know why.

Great summer trail running shoes
Merrell Overdrive Trail Running Shoe - Men's
February 3, 2008
My wife and I both got these, and love them. Very lightweight, comfortable (can't beat the mesh), and easy to put them on. Merrell included regular shoe lace, but the Kevlar lace works really good and never needed to replace them. I ran about 2 miles on the paved road, and I felt good, though I can tell these are really Trail running shoes and not really intended for the paved road. My wife said they also work good with jeans (that's a fashion statement, I think) Overall we are happy with these.

Be prepared
Petzl e+LITE Emergency Headlamp
January 3, 2008
I got the first one as a sample a while back, as the name said, I thought this would be an emergency backup light, so I kept it in my "go-bag". One day my wife took it out and used it for short night time hiking, and we discovered how effective this light is! The only downside is the type of battery they use, it's costly and may not find replacement easily in some place / country, this only keeps this light as "back-up" rather than my primary. But hey, I got a few already and still ordering more!!

Super warm and stylish, not outdoor sports friendly
Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket - Men's
December 7, 2007
This jacket is awesome, keeps me warm during winter. I sometimes have to work outside, sometimes on very cold airfield. I combine this jacket with lighter weight fleece, and I have a perfect solution just standing around all day in 30> degree temp. My only complaint is the lack of hood storage / tie down point, and no pocket inside. I took it for skiing one time, but the hood kept flapping around and annoyed me so much. It's a shame; it's so pricy, very warm, but lacks basic outdoor sport usage.

sizing issue...
Arc'teryx Patriot SV Jacket - Men's
October 18, 2007
Sleeves are too long for me, normally Arc has long sleeves, but this one is longer. I tried with my fleece, but still too long. Had to return it. Overall design is excellent, and the color was excellent. Too bad if the sleeves are shorter...they were really nice accepting the return.

More of urban pack
Arc'teryx Arro 22 Backpack - 1400cu in
September 14, 2007
I have both size of Arro, they are both great for town use. Arro 22 is tad big for everyday use, it doesn't have any compression straps, which makes it hard to compress if you are not filling it up. Padded bottom is great, but make sure you use a computer sleeve of you intend to carry a PC. It can use some organizer in it. It's a good urban pack, but I won't use it for hiking since it has no place to hook up ropes or anything.

Durable and comfortable summer fav
Cloudveil Dyno Pant - Men's
August 16, 2007
Recently I wore them for field work (90+ degree with humidity of 70% for 3 days under the sun), I stayed comfortable all day, no excessive sweating. They also seem to wick sweat. I was working around airplanes, sometimes brushed against sharp object, but to my surprise, the pants showed no scratch. Pockets are designed and placed where they should be, easy to reach. Sizing was okay, i wear size 33, got 34, washed before trying on, fit well. I like them.

Oakley Radar Path Replacement Lens
August 2, 2007
I’m slowly replacing my M frame with Radar, and you guys were one of the first companies to carry replacement lens! I got my fav VR28. If it get dirty, just wipe on the shirt (I don’t use cotton shirt, my wicking ones…), and the lens looks as new. That ease of maintenance is nothing compare to M frame, which usually end up on my head after mile 13 on marathon. Highly recommended!

Very nice design, questionable quality material
Kelty Redtail Backpacks - 1800 cu in
August 1, 2007
Like other posting here, this pack is well designed, good padding, air ventilated against back, and not-so-heavy. However, the material used on the pack is very questionable. It’s not Cordura Nylon, it’s Kodra Polyester. Feels very cheap, and seem to wear quicker than Cordura. I checked Kelty website, and this material is widely used on their military product line as well – does Navy Seal trust this material? I asked a Seal friend, who used different Kelty packs for years. His reply was “Nope, it will bust soon or later, but great thing is they are so cheap Government can keep replacing them” ...Since I don’t have the size of Government budget, I hope I don’t have to replace it as often as his…

Stylish yet durable
Outdoor Research Endura Pant - Men's
August 1, 2007
This is probably the first pair of hiking pants that my significant other complemented for the look. Very durable, and well designed. Seem to have good water repellency from drizzle. I also like the wide belt loop a lot, fits my back-up rigger’s belt perfectly. The only complaint is the temperature, kinda gets hot during summer. I also wish that they will make a cargo pants with same material. Overall I give Five!

Great pair, but no long lasting...
Oakley Radar Path Sunglasses - Polarized
July 13, 2007
This is great sunglass! Great fit and very clean lens. I was really happy to get rid of my M Frame. But, after two months of usage, I started noticing noise coming from frame. Also I feel vibration, too. I wear this for running almost everyday, and I really can’t stand any noise coming so closed to my head (I don’t like wearing any MP3 while running…I have no death wish, trust me) So, I’m just wondering if I got a bad batch, or frame is already giving up on me. It’s not really acceptable after a month of regular usage, and this is advised on Oakley website as sports specific. I may return to Oakley claim department and see if replacement will do the same on me…

Small Fun Pack for Commute
Black Diamond Magnum Backpack - 976 cu in
April 10, 2007
I bought the Magnum for my daily commute to office & gym – what a great pack. Super light weight, very functional. Material seems very fragile at first, but after multiple times getting caught on subway doors and elevators, it is still going strong! Size is just perfect for commute or sightseeing type. It can compress small, I usually keep it in my luggage, and take it out for a quick sightseeing. Only complain is the color. On the photo of website (both yours and Black Diamond), they look solid color of black or gray. Unfortunately, the delivered pack had orange webbing all over, i.e. drag handle and bungee code keepers. I wish they fix the picture to match the product more....

Nice M frame alternative
Oakley Radar Path Sunglasses
March 29, 2007
I really like the fact that Radar comes with two nose type. One of them really work well with my flat nose bridge. I will test more when running season kicks in. I really hope that Oakley will offer accessory kit, such as lens replacement and nose replacement. BTW, I really liked your on-line help. They searched for the color I was looking for, and gave me good advice. A+!

Nice and stable lightweight pack.
Black Diamond RPM Backpack - 1587 cu in
March 29, 2007
Reminds me of GoLite, but far better quality material, doesn’t feel like carrying a garbage bag with shoulder strap. There are plenty of pockets inside, one under the lid, and the other against main body. Color is not as expected, on the picture it looks solid color, but many small webbings are orange, so be aware. I can’t tell how long the compression system will survive…maybe that’s why it has only 1 year warranty (most packs in the market has at least life time…what’s up with Black Diamond???) Outside mesh pocket is not large enough for 1L bottle. I guess this is more adventure race ready high-speed pack, so its not intended for big water bottle to be pushed in there. Overall I like it.

Squeak & slip
Oakley SI Assault Shoe - Men's
February 20, 2007
I noticed two problems with this pair: lack of traction on wet surface and squeaky sole!! When I walk into the office, everyone knows I’m coming in. That squeaky noise must be Oak patent. And on wet surface (marble tile, wet kitchen, wet bus / train floor) they slide faster than ice skate!! If you can live with the problem mentioned above, they are absolutely comfortable.

Arc'teryx Gamut Pant - Men's
January 3, 2007
I’m also another disappointed customer of this product. The sizing seems completely off… I noticed that Arc'teryx moved many product lines to Chinese factory, and this pair is one of them. You pay for the logo, not for the innovation or quality. The pants shrink about one inch around the waist and inseam…

Arc'teryx Fission SV Jacket - Men's
August 2, 2006
I was a little hesitant to try the Fission Jacket because of the eye popping price tag. But I gave it a try anyways. What a great jacket!! Those days of layering heavy fleece and water resistant jackets are over. This thing is super warm. I was working in northern Japan (middle of blizzard in open field), but I stayed toasty. Pros: Super warm, compressive, stylish enough for a night out. Cons: lack of bicep pocket, single zipper opening, lack of hood fastener Now I wish they offered black last year!!

Excellent for runnin' & chillin'
Oakley Zero Sunglasses
July 17, 2006
I didn’t realize the new Zero was sports specific until I saw some tri-athletes wear them at local race. They ventilate well and the optics are FAR superior. I got the orange-ish lens, and works great for running and riding my bike. Not really good for sunny day driving though. I run 2 to 10 miles each day, and I can’t leave home without them. Seems like there's more distance between eyes and lens than M-Frame. No more fogging like M-Frame. Highly recommended for endurance sports!! Backcountry.com was great as always!! I returned the first pair becuase the lens were dirty and scratched. No hassle. Got new pairs the next week.

Poor design on shoulder strap (Don't buy this!!)
Patagonia One Bag
April 14, 2006
The shoulder strap design on this bag needs to be fixed! The tri glider is easy to loosen up, causing the bag to drop. I was traveling with my PC and two files (less than 10lb) in my new Patagonia One Bag when all of sudden the bag hit the floor! My PC was destroyed and had to have the hard drive removed by a shop that afternoon. Never mind my business trip was ruined. After I came home I noticed the shoulder strap’s tri glider doesn’t catch the webbing, and cause it to slip. What a cheap design!! I thought I finally found a non-corporate looking bag for my job, but this thing is SO BAD! Not recommended at all.
