alpine boots
Garmont Shaman Alpine Touring Boot - Men's
April 19, 2008
I bought these for some beefy alpine boots and I am happy. Great control and nice and stiff. I forgot how soft my old rossi freeride xx boots were... it's nice to have a stiff pair of boots again. i just put on the regular DIN sole since I use regular alpine bindings. I was tired of busting AT bindings, so I just went back to regular alpine bindings and stiff boots. It's kinda funny Garmont put a olive green paint job on these, but the boots are really their racing boots which come in Red. Only complaint is that the liner is not heat moldable which could make it warmer and fit a little better

Just works
Black Diamond ClipWire Ski Leash
October 22, 2007
Don't waste time with the G3 plastic leash... they didn't fit my Scarpa boots (figure that, aren't Scarpa's one of the top MFG's of tele boots?) So, I bought these - right price, easy fit. Now if it only would start snowing here in October!

Does the job
Atomic MX:7 Telemark Ski
April 23, 2006
I was looking for a light tele ski for climbing and touring with a nice shaped ski for good turns. When snow sucks in Vermont and skinning up is the best part of the day, these inexpensive skis did the trick. At 5'11" I got the 169cm. Again mostly for the ascent, but the descents in spring snow has been good so far. See what they're like next February on icy peaks.

Silvretta Pure Binding
November 24, 2005
After riding four times with the DIN 8 (I'm 160lbs) and slamming into WET snow-gun snow and rocks in VT pre-season, they held me in just fine. I like the stride of the pivot under toe and much lighter than my Naxo 01s. Only complaint is once snow got gunked up under the pivot which needs to be cleared out before being able to lock into ski mode.
