Could be great

Mountain Hardwear Absolute Zero Down Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 January 25, 2008

Needs a waist adjustment, wider suspenders and an inch or so more inseam. Otherwise these are very warm. Only marmot has competition and those are too extreme for most things. These can work when absolute warmth is wanted.

Almost ridiculously thick. But they are the warmest

Marmot 8000M Down Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 January 25, 2008

These pants are so thick one can hardly move in them. And they need a waist adjustment possibility. Otherwise, they are the warmest out there and the suspenders are really wide, well designed and comfortable. Another inch in the inseam would be welcome. But for the absolute extremes of cold, these are it. And they even have a pocket. Just be careful trying to run in them. (-:

Chugach pants perfected!

Mountain Hardwear Compressor Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 November 23, 2007

The compressor pants from Mountain Hardware are the new version of the old standby the Chugach Pants. All the old faults are gone: too-short inseam is longer, and everything else is super. A great value and wonderful, warm pants. My favorites.

These were returned! Sorry!

Marmot 8000M Down Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 2 August 18, 2007

Very warm, I suppose. But clunky. A draw string waist would have made the difference, since there is only one other pants this warm: the Mt. Hardware Absolute Zero pants, also without a draw string, though the description says it has it. Both went back: Why have all that warmth, if the waist is loose and lets it out??? And the suspenders should be wider and padded, or something, to make them more comfortable. Though the insulation is lightweight down, there is so much of it that the pants weighed heavily on my rather thin shoulders, and annoyed me immensely. They are also stiff-feeling because they are so stuffed so full. A redesign, making these pants more comfortable and with adjustable waist, would make it a winner......though I could do without the wild coloring.

Not my cup of tea

Burton Audex Down Jacket w/ Audex Pack - Men's

Rating for this product: 3 June 17, 2007

This jacket is decently designed, but very heavy and somewhat stiff, compared to other similar down jackets. if the sound technology is your thing, you would enjoy the jacket. But the above overweighed the usage for me. And there is a lot of setup and use instructions ton learn. Too much for me. It went back.

Super for me

The North Face Bones Beanie

Rating for this product: 5 April 8, 2007

I love it. I have huge curly long hair that stands out strongly. This model beannie, of which i have lots in all colors, somehow manages to hold down the hair on the sides, all the way down over my ears, wiothout pressing hard. Wondrous. Works great for me and is comfortable and warm enough for all but the coldest days, when I switch to huge shearling/fur hats. Mark
