Sorry, no--it's a single seat kayak that may be a little challenging for a beginner. Plus, you are both small people, so you might want to look for a smaller boat that has a cockpit that would fit you tighter/better.

Necky Manitou 14 Ultralite Kayak

There are so many kayaks out there--I swear it's a cause of "consumer stress"--that there is no one answer. I can give a suggestion that I have found helpful to follow: go to kayak stores, expos, demo days, etc., find knowledga-
ble people to talk to/with, and then start "test driving" their suggested boats. Take your time and have fun doing it! I shopped for a few months for my boat, and I kept testing it against other brands/models every chance I could. At the end of the day I kept coming back to that specific boat and I knew I had found the right one for me. I suggest your husband use the same process. The one thing NOT to do, though, especially if he is a very athletic man, is to buy a boat that he would tire of or "grow out of" quickly. This has nothing to do with price; it's about matching skill levels to the demands of the boat.
