No problem, I use them with Garmont Excursions and have snow climbed in deep snow with no problem, cinch the drawcord down. I also sometimes use a velcro strap around outside at the bottom at .2 ounce each, the ultimate ultralight gaiter. The bibs have grommets on the bottom for a strap under the instep but I haven't used that.
If they are mainly for day skiing you might consider the heavier duty Arcteryx bibs.
