Siam 9 in Norway

Salomon Siam 9 Pilot Ski Boot - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 12, 2008

I bought these boots recently and was very impressed when I used them. I was totally new to XC skiing but found the boots to be very comfortable and warm. They are easy to get on and off and have a nice firm feel around the foot. The only thing I noticed was that they didn't cover the ankle fully so this may be something to consider before purchasing a pair of boots. The fur lining was a nice touch, no cold toes! I usually wear a size 4(37) but went up a half size and wore them with wool socks and found that the fit was perfect.

I purchased these socks after they were recommended by Back Country. I was really pleased with them as I often get cold feet but especially the toes. These socks were really warm, great for XC Skiing. Also provded to be very warm when worn around the Chalet in Norway......a great pair of socks for cosy toes!

Technique is everything!

Salomon Snowscape 9 Siam Ski

Rating for this product: 5 May 12, 2008

These skis are totally cool, combined with the Siam 9 boots they sure do look the part. Even as a beginner I found these skis performed well. You were able to get a good grip in most of the snow even on the uphill sections. We were skiing in tracks on a biatholon course and the skis were fab, even when skiing out of the tracks.

Bound to ski

Salomon SNS Pilot Sport Classic Bindings - Women's

Rating for this product: 4 May 12, 2008

These bindings were pretty cool however they took a little bit of getting used to when getting your boot out of the binding. Slightly awkward in that you couldn't use your pole to put pressure on to release the binding, however once you figured it out then there were no problems. The only problem I had was that I couldn't find anywhere to fit this type of bindings for me. I had to travel out to Braemar to get them fitted........which was actually pretty cool as there was loads of snow out there and the scenerey was awesome.
