Very well made. The insert is the thickest and best I've seen. Unfortunately I have a very narrow heel and it with the rest of the back of my legs move quite a bit up and down as I walk in them. They would probably be good for skiing but not for just walking with snowshoes or crampons which is what I would be using them for. They also leaked severly after only two minutes in six inches of water. I had to return them and go with Carbela's Trans-Alaska boot.
