Excellent base layer

Columbia Bugaboo Mid Weight 1/4 Zip Top - Long-Sleeve - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 March 8, 2008

This base layer really keeps the heat in and allows the moisture out. It feels comfortable and the 1/4 zip helps with controlling the breathability. The thumb holes on the sleeve is a nice addition and prevents the sleeves from rolling up under my jacket, but feels kind of awkward, like the hole was in the wrong area of the cuff. Very functional without all the flash. Highly recommended!

Above and Beyond

Oakley Over The Top Pant - Men's

Rating for this product: 5 March 4, 2008

I bought the Over the Top pants for two reasons: 1) highly waterproof and breathable for any types of conditions, and 2) it's a cool bib pants. I'm no expert boarder, and the bib really keeps the snow out of my back when I fall. The lining is very comfortable and warm, but if it gets too warm, the inseam and outer seam vents cool me off instantly. there's pockets galore! the chest pockets are small and will probably fit some loose change or a business card. These pants do run a bit small. I'm a 34 waist and I got the large. I can't slip in without unzipping the sides. There's some wiggle room around the waist and a loose fit everywhere else. If you want the coolest (looking and features) bib pants with high quality materials and if you want to stay dry, warm and well vented, look no further, you've found it.

Drink water, not ice.

DAKINE Quad Winter Hydration Pack - 1100 cu. in.

Rating for this product: 4 February 29, 2008

The Dakine hydration pack is a necessity on the slopes. It allows you to stow an extra sweater or snacks or whatever small items you might need. It has a soft fleece-lined pouch for your goggles, and a helmet pouch. The insulated strap where the water hose runs through keeps your water from freezing. But remember to tuck the mouthpiece fully inside when not in use, or the tip will freeze, impeding the water flow. Another cool survival item is the whistle integrated to the shoulder strap. It has a low profile, so it won't feel bulky or out of place on your back. Very good product.

Be a warm, toasty ninja

Analog Folk Devil Ninja Mask

Rating for this product: 3 February 29, 2008

The Analog ninja mask not only hides your identity on the slopes, but it also keeps you warm. the fabric is breathable and also wicks away moisture to keep you feeling dry. I noticed that the length is not long enough to stay tucked under my jacket, and exposes my neck to the cold. This mask is very basic, so it doesn't convert to a cool beanie. But for what it is, it's a good product.
