The North Face Must Have Hoody Shirt - Long-Sleeve - Women's
May 9, 2008
Swam this morning at 5:30, put on my new black hooded shirt- walked on the canal path. Even with temp in the high 30's and wet hair, with a vest I was really comfortable. Then I wore it to work with nice pants and shoes- it is just so versatile! And I wore it last night on an urban hike. Love it.

Good for yoga
Columbia Ashtanga II Pant - Women's
February 5, 2008
These pants are really nice. However, as with most pants, these fit snugly in the thighs and are kind of baggy in the waist. They still work real well for yoga because the waist is tall enough where you don't have to worry about any plumber's butt action. I would definitely recommend these.

Only buy if you are a conehead
DC Vala Visor Beanie
February 5, 2008
I read the other person's review and thought to myself--"I DO have a basketball for a head, this hat should be perfect for me!" The hat fit me width wise but you seriously would have to be a conehead or have some serious dreadlocks or a small rat that tells you how to cook stored up there. Would be a great hat it about 3 inches of the height were chopped off (without harming the rat of course).

Bring on the deep yoga poses
Patagonia Serenity Tights - Women's
February 5, 2008
I don't climb but I do a lot of yoga. These pants are GREAT because unlike many other yoga pants...I never feel like the waist slips down in those real deep poses thus exposing le crack. Finally a good pair of yoga pants!

If you actually ride...
Foursquare Muller Snowboard Pant - Women's
February 2, 2008
Foursquare assigns their sizes in some alternative mini universe where the women live on ice cubes and tic tacs. You gotta have thighs for big mountain riding, or even if you're a park jock.. but I guess not to pick up guys in the parking lot and that must be Foursquare's market. I'm not down with butt-hugging snowboard pants, so I'll have to wait until they come out with an XXXL. I'm a size 10. And totally not bitter about it, but come on!

Multiple uses
Black Diamond QuickDraw Tour Probe 190
February 2, 2008
This probe flips out and is ready to go in about 1.2 seconds.. the click-top lock is super easy and super quick.. Thankfully, the only thing I had to use it for on my last trip was checking for rocks in the snowbank under our cabin so we could jump off the deck after a few cocktails, but it worked. A somewhat unique feature is the sandpaper-ish grip, which is really effective in keeping the probe in your hands, but tears your gloves up a bit - if you're using your probe, your gloves are the last thing you care about, so I am backing it... dropping your probe during a search is just not good. Great probe.

More than a shell--but not too much
Burton AK 2L Rotor Jacket - Women's
February 2, 2008
This jacket is more than a shell - it has some fill - but it's still lightweight and totally breathable. The coolest new feature is the diagonal zipper - no zipper sitting on your chin anymore... it's nice soft fleece instead.

had to order 2...
Black Diamond O1 Telemark Ski Binding
February 2, 2008
...one for my powder bc skis and one for my whatever skis. my husband used a pair on a yurt trip and he was such a rock star both on the uphill and the downhill I had to order 2 pairs. I'm a 5'7" female and not your typical slight build... I got the midstiff and they work great in the bc and at the resort.

These goggles fit well with my Gyro helmet and the lenses worked on the variable visibility days I used them for. Smith makes great goggles, and these are no exception.

Burton Midweight Shant Bottom - Women's
February 2, 2008
I hate sock/ long john commingling - lumps under my boots make me crazy. So these bottoms are perfect for me.. they do everything a full bottom does, except make knots around your ankle or calf and bug the crap out of you.

Lightweight, waterproof and still breathes
Mountain Hardwear Xenon Jacket - Women's
January 24, 2008
This jacket has been great. I use it on long hikes and its comfy, light, and it breathes well. When the weather hits the fan--it keeps me dry too--and its easily stashed or tied around the waist. I would definitely recommend this jacket for those who like to get their heartrate up in yucky conditions.

Voile Switchback Telemark Ski Binding
January 24, 2008
I am a speed machine on these bindings. I have been backcountry skiing for over 10 years and these bindings are a godsend. Plus, I still feel like they are bomber in all conditions. I would definitely recommend these bindings.
