I've had my new beanie on the mountain a few times already and it's good if there isn't much wind and it's not too cold. It is pretty thin and not very wind resistant. I have a 7 and 3/8 inch head and it comes down to about 3/4 the way over my ear. I was hoping it would be a little bigger. If I had know all this I probably would have bought a similar beanie with a fleece lining.
