Solid binding

Marker Duke Ski Binding

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2008

These bindings are great for someone who isn't planning on doing hardcore touring, but still wants the option of being able to hike around a little bit. The binding is solid enough to do pretty much anything, while still allowing you to free-heel it to where you want to go. I don't really have any complaints about having to take my boots out to free the heel, I have to take them off to put skins on them anyway. Good binding to put on a big mountain ski. I put them on 193 Nordica Blowers.

Awesome

Nordica Ignition Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2008

Great Pipe and park ski. The tips are more flexible than the tails, but both are relatively soft altogether. Very nice for shooting up and down the superpipe. However, it's VERY solid underfoot, the tips and tails are only soft about 7-8 inches in from the tips and tails, after that the ski gets stiff again. Easy to pull off sketchy landings also. They work very well mounted on core center. Nordica surprised me with the overall quality of their skis. A good ski for doing everything, but I would say it's geared more toward Park/pipe Aficionados.

great, stable, big mountain ski.

Nordica Blower Alpine Ski

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2008

I mounted up the Marker Duke on my pair and they rock the steeps. I have the 193 and use it mostly for in-bounds touring, big mountain terrain, deep powder days, and the crud. I have a hard time using them in the moguls, but it's probably just because I have the 193s. Go down a little more and you'll probably be fine in any conditions. As far as carving goes you just have to get it going fast before you lay it on it's edge; after that it does fine and will blast you through any rough snow you encounter on the way. I'm 6'1 and I weigh around 175 Lbs. and this ski does great for me. I'd suggest a fairly burly binding to stick on it: Salomon STH 16, Marker Jester or Duke, Look Pivots, or something along those lines.

Worth every penny

Smith Phenom Spherical Series Goggles - Mirror Lens

Rating for this product: 5 January 4, 2008

These goggles rock. Period. Fit great around my face. The adjustable ventilation running through it works great too; I usually close it up on cold days, but other than that I leave it open and rarely get fog in my goggles. Not bulky like I noticed in the Prodigy and in a lot of Anon Goggles. Good fit, simple but good style, awesome quality.

Good Helmet

Smith Premise Helmet

Rating for this product: 5 December 27, 2007

Best helmet I've had so far. Very light, but still solid enough to protect you from gnarly wipe-outs. One minor issue I've had: I took a pretty bad fall and fell backwards. I ended up breaking the adjustment that fits around your noggin. I ended up finding some extra pads hanging around and put those in instead of the adjustment fitting. So far so good, no problems yet. Very nice with the headphones you can get for it.
