Great first board
K2 Podium Snowboard
January 15, 2008
I just picked up snowboarding and fell in love with the sport so I opted to outfit myself with a full set of snowboarding gear. I did a LOT of research on the type of board I should purchase. I wanted something that a beginner could use, a forgiving board, but still keep up with all the higher end boards in terms of performance. After using a bunch of different rental boards I finally got the K2. I've always been a firm believer that you get what you pay for and I certainly got my money's worth with this board. Pros: Board is forgiving for a beginner like me! Great acceleration - you feel like your gliding on air. Zoom zoom Great edges - It's very easy to turn/stop Very versatile board (I've started doing tricks in addition to just going down the hill) Cons: The board comes with a laminated clear coat on the top part of the board and scratches quite easily if you aren't to careful when it comes to running into other boarders/trees/etc. The design is simple and classy but I wish they would have offered more color choices (minor complaint though). Definitely recommend this board for those who are serious about snowboarding, wanting a great board that you can use as a beginner and still notice an increase in the performance of the board as you increase in skill level.

Burton P1 Snowboard Binding
January 11, 2008
I recently picked up snowboarding and after a beginning lesson fell in love with the sport. I did a ton of research on how much I should spend and what exactly I needed. After learning that I could reuse my bindings and boots should I opt for a better board it was clear that I wanted a good set of bindings. It's never easy dropping a couple hundred bucks for gear but I'm a firm believer you get what you pay for. I got these bindings in the black/clear and they have not disappointed. I love the look/ease of use/support/adjustability. I definitely plan on reusing these things once I need a new board!
