bought this as my wife was getting worried about our gas lamps with the kids and have had good experience with replacing LED bulbs in my maglights (brighter, longer battery life, indestructable) - and this is a great pice of kit. it is a little 'warmer' in light quality than most LEDs (there's a yellow filter over the LED!), gives a good diffuse light, has 2 brightness settings, seems pretty rugged, compact size (smaller than i had imagined) and great battery life.
